Considering the little response from the last competition, the specific rules here, the reward (is there one?), and that you are a newer member, I think you will have trouble getting a response. Or will you offer a reward for winning?

Why must be the character lost in nature park not on any planet or somewhere?

From Pete's forum:
Lachie Dazdarian wrote:I think the problem with this initiative of yours is that it appears quite unoriginal and uninspired. With mere «make me a RPG» compo you won't get far, unless you present it well and offer a noteworthy award.

I recommend constructing a more narrow theme that will motivate/intrigue the people do participate. Like I said in another thread, it could be a mouse only controlled action game. Or an SF-themed RPG. Or a game featuring community members as characters. You got the jit.
On which you replied with...
k7 wrote:Lachie, you are obviously not aware (and no one else as I didn't find it necessary to point out) that this won't be the last poll for the competition. As I've said before this comp won't be rushed to start and finish. After this poll, I will probably start another poll/thread to decide the theme of the competition. Ideas can start now, although the genre isn't decided yet, all theme ideas welcome.
Soon after this you announced that all who want to participate MUST go in you COMPLETELY EMPTY forum at that time, and made a lovely surprise with a rather limiting and narrow rule (not to mention boring and original) about the game having to be placed in a nature park.

What happened to polls you promised? And why forcing people to come into your forum? Completely unnecessary and unproductive.

Anyway, your whole approach to this compo and some of your comments just don't make me comfortable. Especially this…
you are obviously not aware (and no one else as I didn't find it necessary to point out)
I'm not trying to attack you here. I kinda wish to help, but I doubt my comments are getting through you.

Good luck with your contest, sorry to say I won't be entering, not really interested in making an rpg. But definitely best of luck to you.

If you're implying Cha0s cannot be trusted as much as a new member, or that this forum might permanently be deleted any time soon, you are wrong.

Whoa guys. It's his competition, and the rules are up to him. It's apparent that the rules have already been stated. Can't really mask insults as suggestions as much now.

I suggest that you not post here if you're not participating :-)

Fair enough. Thanks for the constructive criticism everyone. You know, all I said was 'head over to my forum if you'd like to enter a RPG comp'. That was too much for some people. I'm just trying to make this work, but all poeple want to do is whinge about how the last comp failed, how I am being narrow minded, how I didn't poll for the theme (because no one submitted any new ideas!), and how I told them to go to my forum so I wouldn't get (\~# like Lachie bagging out the project.
I just wanna get this out: Lachie, I think you especially are being an arrogant ^&~* who isn't interested in my project, is just bored and likes to suggest more questions and problems than answers and solutions. I never asked for your help and didn't need it.

The competition is going ahead and there will be an award.

k7: I don't think such comments are appropriate on this forum, especially directed towards the forum moderator himself who also happens to be a veteran programmer. I had a small amount of interest in your compo prior, but I think I'll pass now, based on your rather uninteresting idea and your potty mouth.

The main reason that the competition is on my forum is because multiple programming languages will be involved and it is a better method than having to discuss it individually on each programming forum. All the posts, regardless of what you're programming your RPG in, will be on the one forum, not PetesQB, FreeBASIC, Basic4GL, etc...

I was interested in your compo, but only as compo and nothing more. This is because nothing really distinguished your compo from any other random, but k7 running it. I was trying to make constructive critics on several occasions mainly in this aspect. You ignored them all, and not only mine. You also didn't open more polls as you promised, and I was mainly pointing this out because you used that semi-insulting sentence:
Lachie, you are obviously not aware (and no one else as I didn't find it necessary to point out) that this won't be the last poll for the competition…
And you elaboration:
(because no one submitted any new ideas!)
..is total rubbish and illustrates you hypocrisy so perfectly. You say you want feedback, and then react like a child or ignore it.

In a nutshell, I was provoked (with several of your other comments/statements which I do not wish to bring out anymore). A smarter man wouldn’t react and try to “fix” you. A smarter man would just ignore you. I guess I need to become smarter. Anyway, I’m getting s-h-i-t (read: ban threats) because of this and similar reactions on incorrect forum attitude (according to my mindset) from certain forum admins, so you’ll probably see a change of behavior from me. Of course, I could lamentate how it was never my fault in any of these situations, but what’s the point? My reactions were poorly received, and that’s it.
