"They came... We shot them down!" (now /w sfx!)

Postby Lithium » Jun 17, 2006 20:47

This is a game I was working on for a few months, ending a month ago... It's not finished, but it's stable, thought I'd release it just incase I totaly forget about it or something, although I would like to get back into it some time and finish it up.

About the game, it's kinda like missile command, only the object of the game is too protect the people running accross the screen from an oncomming alien attack.. You use the arrow keys to move the jeep, the mouse to aim/shoot, and enter to change weapons.

you can get it here http://lithium.zext.net/downloads.php, at the bottom of the page..

P.S. Hope you enjoy it!, and if you get bored, try press B & S to get extra weapons during gameplay.

P.P.S. any suggestions/comments would be greatly appreitiated, i'll save them all too a file for the day when I start work on this game again.

Thanks!

Some great gameplay, though I did not understand why I failed, is there a time limit or something? Or did I die without realizing it? Also I would highly suggest adding sound effects. I really liked the gfx. nice job :)

Sorry, there's a meter at the top right, you have to get it on or past the green light to beat the level... every time a person makes it across, the meter goes up... and yeah, I might just add sound soon

Zire: and I thought it was stable :( guess I didn't fix that bug after all....
Do you remeber what direction the missile was facing? where on the screen it was? if it was ready to hit an enemy?

P.S. To throw homing missiles, you just hold the left mouse button down, and then let it go to release the missile, also if you press the right mouse button the missile will explode in mid air, great for taking care of a bunch of mini asteroids.

Wow... It's really fun! :D I really like the idea. Kinda like a modern version of Defender... only much more interesting & fun. Good work! SoundFX would rock! Please add some. ;)

Z!re: Just change the line that says "const maxparticles = 1000" near the start of They.bas, and recompile it

Are there a limited number of people who can cross in a given level? Because I can never beat level 3, it always says that I failed.

yeah there is, but they always come out the same way, as do the enemies (for the most part) you have to be maticulous in protecting them to beat that level
