Kingdoms Rebuilt with FB

Postby Piptol » Apr 26, 2006 18:18

Old-skool fantasy/strategy game Kingdoms has received a FreeBASIC makeover, 5 years after the original QB release.

So now it's a fully fledged Win32 game, the same game you know and love with a few new surprises! This version adds some new characters to help or hinder your Ablyssian adventures, there's minor graphical improvements, resampled music and faster battle sequences.

Come get it while it's hot at Piptol Productions..

Pls lemme know if you find any bugs..

It does not work on my computer. It switches to full screen, and then.. dies silently.

Hmm, could you try this patch and let me know if it fixes it? Just replace the old exe with this one, cheers.

:D

Hey Pritchard, mind if I host a copy of that tut on my site? Then I can refer to it in the help file. BTW, did you ever meet Rockwin? He's another new NPC..

Von: Thanks :) Redoing the graphics would be a lot of work though, maybe if I do a sequel..

...oops.. wait, I tried that and it got scrapped :D

I dunno, it looks acceptable on my 19":P, that game is awesome, except for when you play it on warlord, then its just plain silly, because when I have like 1500 guys, and the enemy has 2500+ it takes forever and ever just to get to the wall. Maybe a speedier battle mode? I think on lower levels like squire its just the perfect amount of time, its long enough for you to enjoy, but not so long as to become boring.
