I am still here, but only half.
My wife died on Sept 7 after an horrific but short illness. (a few weeks).
She was buried on Sept 18 in Stoneykirk Cemetery, a few hundred yards from our home.
Sorry I missed the first "Missing in action" post, I am a little bit lost these days, wandering around an empty house after 50 years of marriage.
I'm sorry to hear

my condolences

I keep in touch with jj2007 and I mentioned dodicat's sad loss in my last emai. Jochen asked me to pass on his sincere condolences.

Go on, let him back in. He seems to be having a tough time of it with masm forum admins, going from a conspiracy theorist to a little hitler who threatens to shut it down every five minutes.

I second that. It must be coming up to two years since his departure, but he still visits here. I reckon that a parole board should be convened.

A good friend of me and my mother died within a short period of time.
I therefore had to clear out two apartments.
But that's not all the trouble, my own apartment had three water damages.
I'm now back to "normal" life and programming again, which I haven't done in a year.

Hi Joshy!

Some of my buddies died by Corona. Sorry for your trouble, but good to hear that you're alive.

I cannot imagine the stress of clearing out just one.

And then three water damages! Dear, oh, dear.

I hope dodicat can get back to coding; it is a good 'escape activity' if nothing else.

Best wishes.

My deep condolence also to you, D.J. Peters and TJF!
And yes, I also support that jj2007 should be let come back to the forum.

Hello Dodicat

My sincere condolences for your loss.
I too can "only" offer you my condolences for the loss of your wife. 50 years is a very long time with ups and downs, but also a time of sticking together that not many married couples will ever achieve.

I, or rather we, hope that you will get over it.

No one can take the memory of these 50 years away from you.

Hello Joshy and TJF

I want to express my sympathy for your loss.

The loss of a parent or friend certainly throws you off track.
Be it due to age or corona etc. Water damage at this time (or any other time) is certainly as unnecessary as a goitre.

I also hope that you get over it well over time.
