If you have a nice idea, make an addictive game for this exciting competition.

With fbsound working again, we can all submit something now :-)

Option 1 : Retro / Strategy - Retro ok, but strategy can be so much work
Option 2 : Puzzle / Endless - Time to continue with my Tetris game... (No copyright might be a problem)
Option 3 : Arcade / Open World - Open world Death race?

LOL

The guys on that forum are complaining about option 3, being incompatible. I could have been worse, e.g.: A hack and slash cards game.

I don't understand the rules !

does it mean:
A Retro game must be a strategy game ?
A Puzzle game must be endless ?
A Arcade game must be a open world game ?

Most Arcade games are retro games also today.
Many open world games are often endless also.
A good strategy game has often puzzles also.

I think, chose either 1, 2 or 3. Then combine the 2 genres mentioned after that option.
So not a Retro / Arcade game, nor a open world / strategy.

You mean combine Retro, Puzzle or Arcade game with strategy, endless or open world style ?

So you have 9 different choices !

Retro strategy
Retro endless
Retro open world

Puzzle strategy
Puzzle endless
Puzzle open world

Arcade strategy
Arcade endless
Arcade open world

I don't get it :-)

No, as I understand it, the 3 options you mentioned:
Retro game must be a strategy game ?
A Puzzle game must be endless ?
A Arcade game must be a open world game ?
Chose one of those 3 options.

If you don't like endless puzzles games. And if you can't think of a open world arcade game. Go for a retro strategy game (e.g. Dune2).

I don't like this 3 option's

no Retro sport game
or a Arcade shooter without a open world
or a Train game with puzzles but not endless levels

So I don't enter the contest they can send me the money price directly via paypal .

You will make an entry for this competiton? Right? Good!

There should a lot of FreeBASIC users who are good at game programming in our FreeBASIC community, Sure. Am I right?

However, there is no FreeBASIC game in all the previous SyntaxBomb's competitions.

Look at what languages participants used in the 4th and the 3rd competitions:

Probably not, I started various games in the past but never completed one.

Not many are interested in game programming it seems...

For completeness, the winners are known: https://www.syntaxbomb.com/index.php/topic,4796.0.html
Haven't tried anything, but the winning games look quit good. Someone actually did submit a Tetris like game.
