Post by D.J.Peters »

I never meet James Horner
but his movie sound tracks goes in my head and some of them in my heart.

He wrote the music for more than 100 of movies.

If you don't know who "was" James Horner I'm sure you know this movies

"Braveheart" "Titanic" "A Beautiful Mind" "Avatar"

My favorite movie sound are from "Legends of the Fall"

I posted it with the Mandelbrot demo and FBSound many years ago.

We lost a good music writer (he made my day more than once)

Rest in peace James

Joshy

The (inline assembler) demo was from 2006 if you don't know it: windows download: JamesHorner.zip

R.I.P and thank you for your music James Horner!

One of my favorite composers,

I have about 10 of his soundtracks on CD including the rare The Land Before Time. I have experienced a wide range of powerful emotions through his music. For instance this track: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y95O6wCOteM was in my head for weeks, it gave me a very powerful high.

At work the radio station which would normally never play movie music suddenly started playing some rehash from Braveheart and that left me wondering for a bit. After the song they made the announcement.

R.I.P. Chester Bennington (Linkin Park)

The price if you get older
good friends and some of your heroes die.

Both Chester and Chris Cornell (Audio Slave, Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine ...)
are on my list of unforgettable singer and song writers.

It was a great experience and honor to hear and see them live on stage.

Yes. I'll miss Chris Cornell. Saw him back in the day with Soundgarden (superunknown tour), and three years back with his acoustic tour. (which was mighty impressive. Just sat down on a stool with acoustic guitar and played for 1.5-2 hours and the crowd was mesmerized).

I'm also drunk tonight. I'm very sorry for your loss. I wish I could give better counsel, but I'm a coder, not a priest.

Code: Select all

if( life_turns_its_back_on_you() ) then
	grope_its_ass()
end if
Best wishes

Sorry to learn about your loss(es).
I can't come up with any words that I think that you would like to hear so I can only hope that you may learn to alter what you can and that you will come to peace with what you can not alter.
Best wishes
