BASIC Gamer new webpage

Post by Lachie Dazdarian »

I finally compiled a webpage for my BASIC Gamer ezine: http://games.freebasic.net/basicgaming.php

As you can read, the next issue will be out in mid November, and as always, I accept subscriptions on my personal email, as well as submissions of any form, as long as they are FB game, game-dev related.

Thank you for you support so far.

Hi, the previous two issues of this magazine are also excellent!! I like to read this magazine and I am learning programming. Your magazine is really nice! I hope that you will include game development information of all BASIC dialects(not only FreeBASIC and QB64). Then this magazine will have more and more readers.!!! Moreover, more good articles will be received by you from writers with different BASIC dialects knowledge. Then this magazine will be more brilliant in the future.

For example, the following BASIC dialect is freeware and is actively developed:
http://www.naalaa.com/

The forum is also active:
http://forum.retrogamecoding.org/

Another example is this BASIC dialect. The 2D version is free for non-commercial use and is powerful:
http://glbasic.com/

Good games are always released from the above two BASIC dialects. I hope that you will consider my suggestion.

Hi, I mean the people who program in these dialects.

I'm sorry, but I don't think that different BASIC dialects can or have a potential to form a cohesive community. This was tried before, and such ezines, in my opinion, were only interesting to people specifically interested in design of compilers/interpreters.

My interest is only the development of FB and QB64 communities, for reasons explained in the first issue. Anything else is not in the sphere of my interest at the moment (in the sense of ezine editing, website administrating), and I doubt it will become soon.

Thanks for noticing. Removed that link, and added links to two FB portals (russian and german), and added a note on QB Express being discontinued.

I had to change the name of the ezine to BASIC Gaming due to name conflict with a website called "BASIC GAMER". All future issues will carry this new name. I'll try to update all the links. Please do so with yours if you copied the old ones somewhere.
