Iceroyds!

Post by Landeel »

Iceroyds! is the ultimate local multiplayer arcade competition game, for all ages.

It's 5 games in 1, as you can compete in 5 different and funny sports.

With kids friendly content, simple controls and gameplay, up to 4 players simultaneous, or up to 8 players non-simultaneous will compete for the trophy in the craziest sports ever.

Recommended for 2 or more players.

Gamepads are highly recommended.

Iceroyds! is available for Windows and Linux / SteamOS.

It looks rather cool and fun.

Not sure I like the price, thought. Especially in the comparison with Humble Bundle releases. How do you plan to publish it? Via your site only?

I do hope you will release some sort of demo version for the community. Any chance a free copy for the editor of BASIC Gamer being available? For the purpose of a review, of course.

Do you think it's to high? If I make it lower, paypal will eat my profit. :(

Once it's complete, I'll put it in my site, and also try some publishing sites. If I send it now, they'll think my game will never be finished, like 90% of the indie games.

I was looking at http://www.gameolith.com/, but that's for Linux only. I need something that's for Windows too, and makes payouts with PayPal. Any recomendations?

Sure, the demo will be available soon.

Heheh, sure dude! You will have your free copy! :)

Don't know about the payout method, but Steam is killer for indie games man. There are other outlets you can check out as well. I found an older list here: http://blog.wolfire.com/2009/01/indie-f ... tributors/

Hey, thank you for that list Sir.
I live in Brazil, so the only unexpensive payout method for me is PayPal.
I know about Steam. They accept PayPal from costumers. If they can also make payouts with paypal, and if they do accept my game, it will be awesome.

That list is rather old, you may want to look for a more up to date one. I don't think you'll have any problem getting on Steam if the gameplay is there, graphics look high quality. The steamworks c++ api wouldn't be too difficult to wrap, from what I can tell, for basic integration as well. Wikipedia has another list containing a few not on the other list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_distribution

Good job on aiming for a release of high enough quality that you think people will pay for it. At the very least, I hope you learn something new from the experience :)

I'll have to quote John Carmack here :)
It's done, when it's done.
Seriously, I want to finish this as soon as possible. Maybe in 2-3 months.
The demo will come out first.

Nice cupcake.

L.D.: You really shouldn't put email addresses in the open like that... at least obfuscate it a bit...

Hey, just checking in to tell it's almost complete.
It just needs some gameplay adjusts, fix some missing graphics, and a little more playtesting. ;)
