It would be more interesting than each member reports its location on the map through his username.
To add your location:
- Sign in with your Google account (or create an account)
- Press the button 'Edit' (to enter in editing mode)
- Then add a placemark, for example with the right click of the mouse (or use the placemark tool)

Yay! I figured it out. For anyone who didn't notice initially (like me) when you click edit it allows you to change the map name, but it also adds a few new buttons at the top left of the map screen. Use these to add yourself.
Also, currently I seem to be the only Australian on the map. I know there's more of you... us, on the forum...
