Runs fine on my old Toshiba laptop. Looks great, I thought it was opengl or something until I looked at the gfx files =) Only one thing, it seems to not scroll very smoothly, but your probably not using ScreenSync if you want to test the engine speed.

35-36fps in windowed mode.
55fps in fullscreen.

WinXP
Celeron 2,2ghz
1gb ram
Some integrated Intel gfx card..

Ooh, 15 FPS (full screen)! A speed up!

My specs:
Pentium III 866 Mhz
192 MB RAM
Windows XP
ATI 3D Rage PRO

Probably the weakest configuration you'll find in this forum. :P

I have updated the engine to test player movement and firing routines. The ship should follow the mouse and fire with the left button.

Get it here if you would like to test....

Runs with playable (?) 13 FPS on my PC.

Pentium III 866 Mhz
192 MB RAM
Windows XP
ATI 3D Rage PRO

I like the combination of scrolling and movement. Not sure if saw this exact concept somewhere else. Cool.

You seem to have problems with dealing with angles and/or with the "follow the cursor" artificial smart. The ship won't turn toward the cursor all the time. Perhaps you should check my tutorial on this: http://www.petesqbsite.com/sections/exp ... tml#angles

Treat the cursor as the player’s object from my tutorial, and the main game ship as the CPU controlled object from my tutorial.
