Well there is a bit of a twist, see, im the best programmer at my school, better than the teachers who are all TERRIBLE. The best the other students can do is around finding the average of other numbers.

My friend Josh cant code for beans, but he wants to learn how to become a better programmer so im gonna sorta guide him along the coding process while he designs the OS(thats where he truly shines).

So this is sorta a special case because I started coding 3 years ago based off of a bet I made with a former friend sean(whos skill was about as far as displaying text on the screen). I said I could become better than him and well... I just got hooked! It was the most fun and thought provoking thing I had ever done. So I got myself deeeeeep into it starting with QB. I didnt migrate to FB till this year. So now im 15, a freshman becoming a softmore, I gossa da skillz!

So this is hardly a regular high school graduation project, I just decided to show off and create a simple OS(should look good on my college transcript)! (Its not called hyperion any more, thats the "code" name, so ill still refer to it as hyperion.)

Im still open to suggestions or tips!

The first 2 years!? Are you guys crazy? I would say the first 6-10 weeks if they have about 15-20 hours a week.

http://osdever.net/ should get you on your feet pretty quick.

Not even that, for the bootloader I wrote for my freeBASIC OS test thing, it took maybe an 2 hours or so, even that is only because I got a little (alot) confused with all the pmode code.

heh, I've been coding since elementary (primary) school. I started in grade 6. My code in the first couple years wasn't the best either. I'd hate to go back over it now, heh.

lol...aww...in 6th grade I was doing cool stuff like RoboLab, and Mindstorms, and FIRST ;-) *never wants to see another drag and drop language ever*

Those I did used to work with a BASIC Stamp board before when I was like 7...its only since 2 years ago when I accually started coding real languages...mostly self taught but anyways

I have no excuse, enough of my life story ;-), you dont want to hear it lol
