My "Space RPG" project...

About that space RPG...

After months upon months, I'm finally ready to show you what I've got!

There is more I could do with this, but I was starting to run out of ideas near the end.

The premise: There are six astronauts stuck in three planets. You must rescue them by defeating bosses, solving puzzles, etc.

The thing I'm most proud of is the NPC scripting code I made up. I hope you like it, and I hope I get around to doing more stuff like this!

I think this is one of the coolest FB projects I've ever seen, or at least for a very long time. I only played for a while... maybe about 20-30 minutes, but I really like it. Keep going dude! I don't know how to explain it... maybe just nostalgia, or the space theme... Good job on the scripting, btw. :)

Hey quiet a fun game! Played like 20 minutes. Put in a story line and it will be perfect.
Keep it up! There is a lot of work in this game I can tell!

I like the work, it looks very very well done, lots of thought, and.. going to try it out.

I was tinkering with fancy looking space vehickles (spelling error left in, intentionally) for a knock off of Galaga..

Erm...why no game over when I lose a battle? Am I missing something? What is a penalty for loosing battle?

Anyway, seems to be fun and random (in a good sense), therefore surprising. I just don't know what to think of the gameplay when I can't lose the game.

Whoops. I changed it now. When you lose all your HP in a non-battle, you lose half of your coins. A small change, but there's still work to be done on the game. Just re-download the game and it should work.

Note: Changes made just now. Turns out I had to re-do the MediaFire link.

A few items...

1) Full screen mode in Win7 (alt+enter): weird colors/palette for some reason.

2) Instructions should be packed in the zip, not just on your site.

3) Maybe you shouldn't get blown up if just one ship hits you. That's very discouraging.

4) I want mouse controls for everything! :X

Still working out the bugs...

1. I don't have Windows 7 so I'm not sure how to change the color pallette there. I'm developing this using Vista. :(

2. Actually, the instructions are in the zip file, under Read Me. It's an offline version of the website (I really need to update that in the next release.

3. Most of the stuff I put in were for debugging purposes. You're right, one-hit kills are discouraging. I'm working on that right now.

4. That's not a bad idea...

About the colors in fullscreen, are you using SCREEN? If so try to change it to SCREENRES.

For some reason at one point I jumped from 450 to 1000650 coins, and then later to 2000245 coins. Only a display bug or? Didn't get an opportunity to test it (read further).
Also, the female astronaut battle. If I "spaced" the jail door again, I would have to fight that stuttering weirdo again.
When I talked with the generic princess, I asked her about the key, she told me to go to the fountain, and then my inventory opened. I couldn't get out of it. Not matter which item I clicked or key pressed, nothing. I had to kill the process. And I didn't save for a while because battles became so easy (after getting killed 5 times in a row by a first monster, but of course, there was no game over). So until I level up, the game is impossible which you fixed with no game over. After I level up once or twice, it's a stroll through the park.
Beside that, the game is confusing and feels random. Not sure what I did and what I triggered, if I can't go further because of a bug or whatnot.

Frustrated...

The graphics in the vid are not significantly more advanced than yours. But id be willing to pay 100 quid for a megadrive and this game cartridge because it was just such intense & enduring fun,,,your game is cute but utter crap (have to say ), mainly due to the abysmal gameplay.....i walk across an innocuous floor tile and get sucked into battle with a snake...i cant outrun the snake but i dont see my wheelchair and ball and chain...the snake rather than bite me zaps me with a laser !

A few well thought out tweaks and you will have the basis for a really good game that you can keep on adding to.
