wish we had a better cameraman! but... he has the best computer for frapsing a high-end game
As per the usual the current build is much better looking, even faster than the one in the video :(
And the road-network all the testers are making just keeps getting bigger
hehe

also, it wont be a minecraft clone forever
ive probably answered this so many times its starting to get on my nerves, but its true it does have minecraft-ish gameplay atm
well, there are no future plans at present that define exactly what it will be
there are ideas, and they need to be developed more...
but in the end, it wont be a minecraft clone
at least, i will never ask anyone to pay for a game thats a high-end version of another, unlike so many first-person-shooters, rpgs, adventure and puzzle games out there

if any questions, just ask... i cant tell you what kind of game it will be though

Magnificient. Congratulations. I especially liked the reflection of clouds on water. (They are reflections right?)
I also liked your font, and if it is not something you made specially for this, I would like to know the name of it.
You said that you constantly test this on Linux? Natively or Wine?
This is a game that can be bundled in Humble Bundle when it is ready I think.
So a native Linux version would be great. (Linux people tend to pay more for games than Window$ people. :-)

Anyway, sorry for my probable mistakes.

but as a programmer, one can never be completely happy :) hehe, i always always see the flaws

update: hybrid realtime daylight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LKIebjhxqc8

there also seems to be a leak somewhere, doing stuff
so i had to disable player selection on terrain (you cant "see" the frame on the ground where you aim)

but, i decided still to post a build for anyone who just wants to try it out
make sure you have a decent computer though! at least dual core 1.8ghz, with a gfx such as gtx 260, or a mobile gts 360m

http://fbcraft.fwsnet.net/fbcraft-test.rar

open config.ini and change username to something other than "changeme"
turn on reflections if you want
otherwise leave as is..

when you are in game press enter to open chat input and talk to testers =)

Lighting feels a bit better in this vid.... not sure if you actually changed anything except for the "hybrid" light, but I would still really tone down the shading for "normal daylight". In real life, you are not going to have such immense dark areas because light will be reflecting everywhere. (which would require too much cpu power) Gameplay-wise it is also distracting and not fun to have huge dark spots and huge incredibly-bright spots...

the last one is special
its an algorithm that looks for nice places to place 50 bushes in one fell swoop
its also reproducible =)

so, im almost out of ideas for objects...
im going to make grass (but im not sure how good it will look)
and im going to make fungi without caps/hoods

any wishes?

http://fbcraft.fwsnet.net/ returns nothing. Is there a version of a demo online I can download?
