It's worse than you think here. We're not dealing directly with the verb "to stick", but "to sticky", which derives from the concept of a "sticky" (i.e. A sticky thread). The adjective is of course derived from the verb "to stick".

So, "stickying" is a noun that has been turned into a verb (a technique that's frowned upon in formal language, and often humourously called "verbing":)

But not only that: used in this context, it's a verb derived from a noun, derived from an adjective, derived from a verb!

A version (2.62) fixing the issue with the mutexes.

http://jafile.com/uploads/sarg/fbdebugger.bas

There are also the beginning of help on display and tutorial.

To test :
- create a small exe named "tutorial.exe" (don't forget the _g option)
- download this text file
http://jafile.com/uploads/sarg/tutorial.txt
- put them in the same directory of fbdbg
- start fbdbg and select the option "tutorial" in the tools menu.

The text in the edit box guides you. Click on next to proceed, every important area is surrounded in red. Only useful commands are unblocked. Just close the box to quit the tutorial.

The help button allows to get explanation about a part of display by clicking over. For now only the left button (step) is recognized.

I look forward to your feedback.

Hello SARG !

I made the test. It works perfectly, but the name of the program to create is "testthread.exe", isn't it ?

That tutorial is a good idea. Thank you !

No, "sticked" wouldn't be valid. (And because "stick" is irregular it's not the past participle of that either - "stuck" is, as mentioned earlier.)
Because the noun/'verb' we're working with is "Sticky", I'd go for "Sticky'd", or maybe "Stickied". Not "Stickyd" or "Stickyed" because the letter combinations look a bit clumsy.
There's no definite right answer. I'd lean towards "Sticky'd", with the apostrophe suggesting that I'm improvising here, and not trying to pretend that it's a real, established word.
(By the way, I hope I don't come across here as the Language Police, or as being pedantic; I'm just enjoying a bit of speculation on the subject:)

Thanks for the precision :-)

No problem, signal obvious errors. It's a way to progress in an other language.

You're right I did the changes too quickly last evening and I let "testthread.exe" name. I'll fix that later.
Do you think that this approach is practical?

Yes, it's useful for someone who doesn't know how to use the debugger.

There is a problem with jafile.com. I get "Account Suspended" when
trying to download your files from it.

It was ok yesterday. The site is not down as all the images in the post are still displayed.

I take this opportunity to upload a new version, slightly changes. See first post.

Old account but still active :

Indeed why not !! That seems to be more work than just uploading. ;-)
But I can think about that.

Hey SARG, it's without www at the beginning, like MOD pointed out. :-)

I don't think that this JaFile problem is dependent on the visitors' countries. The web hosting account seems to have been closed down by the web hosting company. In general, this might have different reasons, maybe there was a "terms of service" violation, too much traffic to meet "fair use" conditions, unpaid bills, maybe the owner canceled the hosting plan by decision, ... Many reasons are possible.

As all the one click hosters, personal homepages, ... die after a few months or years, I'd like to invite everybody to put their FreeBASIC related files on one of our servers (see also this related posting). FileAnchor ceased to exist, thereby annihilating lots of valuable downloads, codes and screenshots, just a few years ago. Now it seems to have happened to Jafile. So if you want your files to be still available in a few years, ... ;-) Feel free to contact me for a free FreeBASIC hosting account (with FTP upload): sebastian [at] freebasic-portal.de

My fault. Thanks MOD.

BAD WAY : testing and then making changes without testing again ......
