Hi anonymous1337

No other reason than the work has to be done, time is the limitation.

I guess it's a straight text paste from the announcement in the fbedit forum. Here's the full link:

For some reason, just plain "r" as a variable name gets highlighted. I'm able to fix this by opening the code editor settings menu, unchecking inline asm (or rechecking it) and then saving my settings. I can't recall the exact steps I took to solve this problem originally, however, and it reappears every time I open FBedit.

Also, I'm going to lobby again to have a 'find in all open files' function in the search utility :-) I've been using grep instead, which has actually turned out pretty good.

Thanks anonymous1337

There was a bug in the resource editor that caused 'r' to be highlighted. A new zip has been uploaded.

'find in all open files' is on my todo list. Hopefully it will be included in the next release.

BTW:
Did you know, creating a project from existing files is extreemly easy.

1. Create an emty project (no files or templates) in the folder where your files are.
2. Select all the files you want in your project with windows explorer and drop them in the project browser.
3. Select the main file.

Thats it. Done in less than a minute.

Good to know, KetilO.

I figured that it was fairly easy to make a new project, but unfortunately I'm sometimes working with big, fairly complicated sources written in FreeBASIC. I may have fbc open trying to find analyze how it works, along with test files occasionally created and opened. "Projects" have never done it for me in this scenario, but I'll try it out next time I'm searching through fbc.

idea / sugestion

Postby kyja » Oct 20, 2008 9:56

This is mearly a sugestion. Ponder this feature.

the ability to have a tab access and browse the freebasic wiki and other useful freebasic related sites. this would also open an avinue for FBedit to check for updates and allow a person to go to a site to review and download updates.
I am unsure this could be an addon, being as how FBedit should not confuse a browser tab with a broject tab. Perhaps I am wrong.

FBedit is the best !! as it is already though.

Hi kyja

That would need some programming.
However adding url's to the tools menu is easy.

Example:

Menu item: FbEdit releases
Command: http://fbedit.freebasic.net/viewforum.php?f=2
