The help file in fbide

Postby Larryrl » Jul 06, 2017 18:42

For some reason, when I'm in the Fbide, and I access the help, the topics show up in the left pane of the window, but nothing shows up on the right when I click on a help topic. The right side of the help file remains blank no matter what I do.

Hi Laryrl,

welcome to the forum.

We've had that one, quite a few times before:
    1) reason: file is locked (because of: internet download)
    2) unlock it, by (using File-Explorer)
    3) right click it (the help-file)
    4) choose properties
    5) bottom right hand side (you'll see the lock-checkbox)
    6) uncheck it, then
    7) press apply-button (all done)
Should work as expected ... (to get the latest manual, see here)
Btw: nothing to do with FbIDE (happens with other IDE's too, e.g. FBEdit ...), it's a Windows thingy.

Hi,

if the CHM file is on a net drive, you have to copy it to a local one. Maybe adjust the %path% to it in your IDE, don´t know.
A well known issue in WIN/IE since : ?

Good Luck!

Adi
