Not really. And it's really game deving for me. One of my wishes is to work on pixel art skills for a while and then code something, but i do feel tempted to try muster something up with lackluster graphics. Was mostly busy with work myself too. Doing some film reviews on YouTube, but too seldom. It's more trying to do.Jonge wrote:Life is pretty good, though work and family takes up most of my energi =) Still like to get back to coding, but I usually dont get any further then opening the editor.Lachie Dazdarian wrote:Jonge, it's so awesome to see you! How's life been treating you? Wanna connect on Facebook? Alien Terror is one of my favorite QB games. I rememeber it well.
I can't say I use Facebook much, only to store my CandyCrush progress =)
Do you still do any coding?

Hi Lachie, I'm working on sprites, changing the aspect of the hero accordingly to real V1ctor.Hi Pito. Did you get my comment that your main villain is real life v1ctor dead ringer?
@Jonge: Thanks!

I cleaned up my game 'to do' list. It does not look good, progress is too slow. Maybe I should take a week off (from work) just to work on the game. 800 $ is crazy. My current game isn't worth 8 cent.

Hi all,
I missed this thread due to the fact I was away from any keyboard precisely since this October... When is the last day to submit something? January the 1st? or sooner?
Very nice idea any way :)
Thanks to the generous sponsors!

"challenging to play"Lachie Dazdarian wrote:Gameplay (15 points max): In this category I will evaluate how much the game is fun and challenging to play.
Does it mean a complex game where you have to learn how to play it, gets lesser points ?

People like a game they can start playing immediately and the challenge is learning how to play it better over time.D.J.Peters wrote:"challenging to play"Lachie Dazdarian wrote:Gameplay (15 points max): In this category I will evaluate how much the game is fun and challenging to play.

This applies to Mario as it does to Tetris.
Thus you might include easy, medium and hard modes to get a player started but with the challenge to build on their abilities over time.
The degree of difficulty might simply be the frame rate or number of enemies. Let the tiles fall slowly at first and speed up over time.

Ok but:BasicCoder2 wrote:People like a game they can start playing immediately
you can't play a flight simulator without to learn how to fly a plane.
you can't win a battle with AI robots if you don't learn/detect its weak points.
you can't win a FPS game if you don't know how your player can climbing, jumping, swimming, running, and using different weapons.
Looks like I have to think about a tutorial level before the player will be killed in seconds
Can't wait to start after Christmas.
