Need a little help testing my android framework

Postby relsoft » Apr 28, 2013 14:41

Hello guys,

I need some help testing my android game framework. So if any of you have some droid phones, I would appreciate it if you could test it for me.

So far I've tested this on a samsung galaxy s 1ghz and an lg e400 800mhz. Both can run the app fullspeed. If you can test this on a lower spec device it woul be better. This would run on api 7(2.1 eclair) and above.

Also if possible can you report the fps and your phone specs where you tested the app?

Apk;

So far the engine has:
3 full screen parallax scrolling
backgrounds.

Can handle more than 1000 bullets
with no slowdowns.

Stereo sounds.

Sorry, I'm writing the post on my
phone.

Thanks.

I get 60 game FPS and ~45 logic FPS on my LG Optimus (1.5ghz amd quad-core, 2GB ram, 32GB storage).

I too am writing this on my phone. :)

Thanks for testing buddym

I decided on a 45 fps logic since I thought some devices could not run it at 60. Do you think reverting the logic back to 60 fps is a good idea?

Galaxy Note I: CM 10.1 CM_N7000_4.2.2_20130313 - CFQ

game FPS: 33 - 43
logic FPS: about 1-2 Frame lower then game FPS

Test-Run: 1min 30sec - Core Speed 1:28 on 500MHz out of 1.4 GHz max.

I'm quite happy that it's playable at 500 mhz. Considering the screen density of the note, why are you underclocking?

Thanks!

It all depends on your target specs. If you decide to aim for a 1ghz single core and it runs smoothly at 60/60 then great, if not you'll have to change something.

The engine's logic runs at 45 fps so any phone that could run the engine at 45 fps is good to go.

I don't like this compromise but if it's smoorh enough I'll prolly stick with it.

I still go to my yahoo messenger account when I'm online but sadly, no a lot of people there.

Does gmail support mobile chatting? I use my phone since I get free net(though I cant' share my connection via tethering.)

My ym account is the same as my mail.

I have the Messenger app on my android. I can talk to my email address through that. I'm not 100% sure what service that runs through. It may just be plain SMS.

Gmail on my phone appear to be email only, so I'm not sure if chat is supported.

Never even tried to find gmail chat on mobile. It would be pretty sad, if they didn't include it though... and kinda weird?
