Reading/converting QB45 binary sources without QB45...

Post by BastetFurry »

What the subject says, is there a way to convert those binary sources without having QB45 at hand?
Wanted to have a look at my childhood stuff but dont have the compiler anymore...

Not to my knowledge.

If you look around you should be able to find QB45 or PDS which should be able to open those files and save them in plaintext format. Technically it's illegal to download them, but they're basically abandonware: so old nobody is going to prosecute you for using them.

That's the best thing I know, hope it helps.

Can QB 1.0 open those files? Atleast QB 1.0 is offered as download at MS website, just like whole dos.

IIRC, QuickBASIC 4.5 and PDS 7.x use different formats.

But PDS 7.1 can read the "Binary - Fast load and save" format generated by QB 4.5 (only ascending compatibility).
