It seems to finally work as intended.

I noticed that when I visit the site I have to click on the reload button to get the updated content, it's probably an issue with my web browser but it could happen to others

New changes do not always lead to an update of the 'manual.chm' like today.

That happens when I restart the server/system (like I did yesterday for updates), cause it looses the "reference state" then and can't check for changes.

The fileserver is kindly provided by Sebastian, I can't change anything there, so I fear there's nothing I can do here. :-/

hello St_W :-)
my comment was only meant to make visitors to your site aware that a reload might be required, it was not a complaint.

A third consecutive night with documentation pages having been changed but without any update to the manual.chm.

Thank you for updating the manual, probably triggered manually (see update time).

Thanks fxm for the reports, I had a look at the logs and it looks like the FreeBasic wiki frequently returns a HTTP 500 error when the CI system asks for the RSS feed to check for changes:

Code: Select all

Polling started on 07.10.2021 03:38:13
Polling for the job FreeBasic Documentation
Looking nodes where the poll can be run.
Looking for a node to the restricted label master.
Restrict on master label. Polling on master.

Polling on master.
Resolving environment variables using global values
Invoking the url:
 https://freebasic.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=RecentChanges/recentchanges.xml
[WARNING] - Checking content requires success responses. Actual: 500

Polling complete. Took 2 minutes 1 second.
No changes.
I checked the URL manually right now and it worked (although it takes very very long until I got a response from the server). Not sure what I can do to improve the situation. As far as I know the FB wiki is currently built upon a slightly modified version of WikkaWiki, which can be found here: https://github.com/freebasic/fbwikka . It seems this fork of the original project hasn't been updated since 2016 and also the original project is End-Of-Life (see message from author: https://github.com/bakoontz/WikkaWiki) since mid 2020.

Indeed:
fxm wrote:For some time now, I have noticed that access times to Wiki are sometimes becoming very long.
Then it seems to me that if we are logged in, the access times become correct again.
Is it just a combination of circumstances ?
badidea wrote:It is indeed slow. Now I even get:

Request Timeout
This request takes too long to process, it is timed out by the server. If it should not be timed out, please contact administrator of this web site to increase 'Connection Timeout'.

I confirm my remark in red.
