Games in the 90's looked so much better then today's games Hi badidea, I agree. For this reason I'm designing a retro-style game, here's another WIP: https://youtu.be/oG4saGPkQ5I @Tourist Trap Feel free to glue some parts of FBLowPolyeditor or FBBézier if You think it could be useful for your proje...

hi,

here's the title of my entry: "Impossible Victhorse" :)

@Boromir
Your graphic style is very original. At first glance I didn't realize that it is made using ASCII chars with parallax effect.

@Landeel

You welcome.
Even you are doing a good job. Your game reminds me "Project X" for Amiga

Hi, see this, it is a previous post by D.J. Peters. Dec 23, 2018 3:31 On Windows the *.dll library can be in the system path or in the same folder as the *.exe On Linux the *.so library must be in the search path of ld (command ldconfig) If you know the folder you have to copy libfbsound-32.so to it.

Re: fbsound 1.1 (dynamic) Windows/Linux 32 and 64-bit (wav mp3 ogg mod it xm s3m)

Hi,

I've tested the dynamic library also on old hardware (Win Xp SP2 Intel Celeron @ 2.00 Ghz, 256 Mb Ram).
I've compiled and executed "oop_test01.bas": it works fine.

Best regards

Hi Joshy, I've tested in WIN 10 64 bit and Linux Ubuntu 64 bit. The dynamic lib works very fine. I've compiled and executed the "oop" test with no problem. Even adding the lib to my projects has been really easy. I've easily added music to my "A love letter to freebasic" project,...

Hi Pito. Did you get my comment that your main villain is real life v1ctor dead ringer?

Hi Lachie, I'm working on sprites, changing the aspect of the hero accordingly to real V1ctor.

How is progress? I'm currently working on both editor and engine. I'm using the C64 color palette in order to achieve a retro style. Editor http://www.pitto-maker.cloud/img/love_letter_screen_00.png Engine http://www.pitto-maker.cloud/img/love_letter_screen_01.png Your Victor animation in nice :)

Re: "A Love Letter To FreeBASIC" Game Dev Competition (Oct 2018 – Jan 2019), 300 $ 1st prize

So its going to be a platform game? I wish develop a tile based game. The tile based grid itself could be used at runtime as a platform base, a 2d map (orthogonal or isometric) or a perspective grid. Each tile has got its value stored in a 2d array. Concerning the game engine itself, IMO the core o...

@ Lachie May I use small portions of libraries developed by other users? I.e. I wish use the imagescaler by D.J. Peters (that I've used in FBLow Poly Editor) and the Joystick control routine developed by JeffCoder (that I've used in Jasc Soccer). I think these library will enhance the overall gamepl...
