Re: Lt-FreePcb : LTSpice and FreePcb working together

Hello , LTSpice is a good simulator ; It exports a netlist without packages . FreePcb is a good Pcb designer , easy to use ; it can import a netlist with packages . Lt-FreePcb builds a netlist with packages from the LTSpice netlist and it copies positions of components from the schematic file ( *.a...

Re: COM port Transmit Buffer - Bytes Remaining ?

Hi jmg, Did you resolve this issue? I have a similar problem with RS232 data. Only with the work-around, of doing a (Baud+Data) variable delay. That seems to work well, with a minimum value plus some usual OS wobble. Even on systems that can check for TxBuffer, that is only the Windows value, and t...

Good point, because integer is vague/imprecise (and I also dislike Long as equally vague), I changed all the type declarations to either int32_t or uint32_t, making it very clear what is expected for each number.

Re: DLL calling given C headers, almost working...

C string pointer is const ByVal and all int are long. Joshy Magic, pasted that and voila !! - however, working back from that working example, I find this also seems to work too .... Dim Shared ConnectUSB As Function (Byval DeviceSN As Zstring ptr,_ ByVal nECprotocol as Integer,_ ByVal nPowerTarget...

[solved] DLL calling given C headers, almost working...

I have DLL calling given C headers, almost working... 7 out of 8 appear to work fine. [FB Version 1.03] The one that stumbles even works, in a default case, but not when I think I'm providing a string. // C++ Prototype: extern “C” __declspec(dllimport) HRESULT__stdcall ConnectUSB( const char * sSeri...

Re: FTDI FT232 serial port

If I open COM9 (FT231X) in a separate Terminal, and then run the batch, I get this from .BAT Device COM9 is not currently available. "\\.\COM9:" is not a recognized device. Access is denied. When I disconnect Terminal from COM9, BAT works again. So that message means Windows thinks somethi...

Re: MyTerminal prog

Since I think, in my humble opinion, that it would easier to do a good terminal program in a non GUI method, I would like to try something like what they used to have in the DOS days. This looks cool. I did not read all the posts, but I'd suggest two terminal designs. A VT100 type with cursor addre...

Re: FTDI FT232 serial port

When facing problems like this, it can help to try a Terminal, or even a plain DOS command I do not have a FT232RL but I do have a FT231X, and this DOS command pair MODE COM9:2400,N,8,1 copy /b ShortFile.TXT \\.\COM9: ( The \\.\COMnn allows the command to work to COM57 etc) gives this Status for dev...

COM port Transmit Buffer - Bytes Remaining ?

Hi, I have a FreeBasic app all working, but I found it was dropping characters, and tracked that down to too little time from last PUT to CLOSE. Test show the added forced delay time needed varies with BAUD, but I find 95ms is OK for 57600 and 25ms is ok for 250000 Baud. That's roughly the time to s...

Re: Include files for libUSB Linux and Windows.

Further to the above, I also found this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computation_of_cyclic_redundancy_checks#One-pass_checking which says if you append the CRC and then run over all bits including CRC, you should get 0000 for the 2nd larger span CRC - so it seems a useful reality check for any CRC a...

Re: Include file: usb.bi (tested on linux)

@nobozoz I mean from page 198 usb_20.pdf from here http://www.usb.org/developers/docs/usb_20.zip Before i do it with an micro controller i will test it with FB or C first. My first try but i don't know is it right. This is great, but when I scan this with some 16 bit data fields, it seems to always...

Re: FB debugger : 2.70 (september 29th, 2013)

I've just spotted this : http://arduino.cc/en/ArduinoCertified/IntelGalileo The operating system and boot details are vague, but I could see instantly that a remote-debug version of FB debugger would be great here. Perhaps intel will release enough info, to allow one to be built ? Looks like they ha...

FTDI test examples, ftd2xx & libMPSSE ?

Till now, I've just used the std COM drivers with FTDI parts, which has worked fine, but now an app has arrived that needs to use ftd2xx.dll and the MPSSE sub-portion of that. I can find http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=17439&p=153121&hilit=ftd2xx#p153121 which points ...

Yes, good to see that done, this is great work :)
It should even have a Download-bundle option, so users get a 'working system'.

@Dev/Mod, a humble request : Is it possible to "stick" this topic in the projects page ?

Yes, I would agree this is important enough to warrant a sticky topic, in the Projects Page.
