Excellent. I got it to compile my simple program above. Now I need to just figure out how to use the library. Trying to call the console initialization function resulted in crash and burn, but maybe I'm just missing something that has to happen first. : D :) then we are in the exact same situation ...

Did exactly this and still get the error message:
cannot find -ltcod

Thanks for the hints and help!
One thing I wrote wrong is of course that a 1d6+2 is one dice with six numbers (1-6) and a bonus of 2. So I also wan't the Game to be able to handle for example 5d3+4 ( roll 5 dices with 3 sides 1-3 and then the bonus of +4)...

Well It's been some time since I was programming so here's a perhaps simple question for You guys: I wan't the code to receive the monster.damage ( always a dice with a bonus attached, similar to ordinary D&D rules). Here's the monster.bi with all the info about all the monsters. Monster.name = ...
