Re: Ptr to an array? (Was: Possible to ReDim with only a ptr?)

@mrToad. I thank you for your appreciation. Probing for practicality seems to me a funny but pretty good description for some of my way. I m sure there is not a single way for doing code you expect. Till you are friendly with pointers, 1.08 might be of help. For personnal and prof reasons I have few...

Re: Ptr to an array? (Was: Possible to ReDim with only a ptr?)

@mrToad. I understand it is just curiosity, but I don t understand precisely what could be a goal doing this. More speed ? Simpler syntax ? Different feature ? The meaning or purpose of the suggested syntax, even though invalid, is unclear to me. (addendum : if your goal is to parse an array with fo...

Re: FreeBASIC 1.08 Development

I think it might be possible to implement a specific prefix for features that use preprocessor specifications, which from the user's point of view could be manipulated a bit like a global object (pp_ARRAY, pp_VIDEO, and so on, a syntax close to pp.ARRAY, and so on). This would perhaps bring a dimens...

Re: FreeBASIC 1.08 Development

I m just watching around the ideas. Considering the idea seeing the preprocessor as an object. Considering the idea the linker could be seen as a conceptual layer in its own rights... I see these as possibilities. My idea the linker layer outside the Fb core, nevertheless inside the ecosystem.

Re: FreeBASIC 1.08 Development

I think fxm's solution shall be seen as strictly technical meaning not conceptual nor standing for or against JK proposal. I just see it as a technical opening. @Mr Swiss : indeed I agree your point of view about implementation.

Re: How to add new features? (syntax, user API)

I suppose anyone could use the preprocessor to define new keywords extensions this way. If so, perhaps should be used a common naming convention using aliases, ex : pp_ARRAY (or anything else standing for every pre-processor overrides) ? Because these will actually behaves differently and have diffe...

Re: How to add new features? (syntax, user API)

@andy. Sorry about my epidermic reaction.. As I said previously UDK should be a true conceptual advance. I shortly went to your link. I m not sure gforth stands out from object programming. Till you can program a kwd using oop, you still fall back into oop and you just dedigned an extension using a ...

Re: How to add new features? (syntax, user API)

I m a genious I know, my ideas whenever not formulated in my mind were already covered by GPL V3 , how could I imagine it ? Seriously again, probably not the same UDKs I had in mind whenever this idea was not yet fixed. This reminds me on the "round corners" on smartphones. How about my li...

You're welcome. Missunderstanding, must be. We have the same concerns, only the approach differs, shall be. You may find my email in LZLE licence. I did so because not being anonymous is a condition for an open source licence to be valid.

Re: Unable to access fb.net forums

A funny solution could be a check box surrounded by a blue round "I'm a robot" with an "Ok" button that works only if the box is checked, coupled with a link "I am a robot and I ask the blacklisting of my url "and another link" access to the forum ". The black...
