Abstract / Virtual / Nothing at all

Looked at the examples, but I don't see an actual reason to specify whether a function or sub is abstract, or virtual, or neither. Can't the compiler figure that out? --------------- Edit: From my conversation with DKL, in IRC, this is what I understand: Abtract and virtual allow you to set a priori...

Re: Error with NAME in the new version?

It should work in .24. It just depends on which .24 you are using, I guess. Both Mysoft and I had it working in some version of .24.

I guess I can do #undef name... gah.

Edit: Also, looks like the optional macro bug is dead in .90, replaced by variatric macros that I can't understand how to use. :(

Error with NAME in the new version?

This used to work in .24: #include once "qsort.bi" type researchType dim id as uinteger dim name1 as string end type qsortDefinePtrUDT (low, researchType ptr, name) ' Qsort Complete v3.5, by Agamemnus 2008-2010 ' Last updated October 2010 ' License: Public domain. ' ' All-purpose quicksort...

Re: Issue (.23 windows)

Ah, I see.

Add this one to the archaic confuse-a-newbie set.

Is there no pre-made function that will round identically for both floats and strings? (to return an integer)

Re: Issue (.23 windows)

What do you think is the appropriate result? Rounding or no rounding?

Re: Issue (.23 windows)

Ok, thanks.

Not sure if it has been discussed before. Would this be a bug or what?

Issue (.23 windows)

cuint (10.7) returns 11.
cuint ("10.7") returns 10.

Somewhat surprising. Quick question... is this changed in latest?

Re: Mouse-Driven Interactive Fiction Engine

I've always wanted to do something like this, but kept getting bogged down.

It looks like a good start. I like the Gemstone-IVesque feel of the GUI.

Re: Irrlicht Wrapper for 3D games and applications

Haven't been working on my 3D game for about a year now.

I think perhaps the best way to preserve this is to use github. Thoughts?

Re: Procedural block world project

It's good that you spent some time on the interface. I would further suggest to remove the compass directions altogether and have a single "N" on top of the minimap. Or, perhaps keep some of the directions and adjust the map to the rotation but keep the map as a straight un-rotated square.

Re: IRC webchat

I have a better idea.

Mysoft doesn't talk about OOP unless someone clicks the "ask the grumpy old programmer" button. That will generate an automatic message to Mysoft. :-)
