Anyone done Knuth & Plass text wrapping routine?

Has anyone in freebasic done Knuth & Plass text wrapping routine? Or know of any library or dll that will do it? The best I can do, is use a greedy algorithm to do text wrapping. Link to wikipedia on line wrapping . Another website on this https://xxyxyz.org/line-breaking/ Rosettacode has c sour...

After Ctl+Alt+Delete is pressed, continous Alt key is sent

Did Ctrl+Alt+Delete, to get to task manager, to check memory use. Been using multikey to detect Alt key press. Either Windows 10 has a bug after pressing Ctrl+Alt+Delete, or there is a problem with multikey. I tried several other alt key combinations, and can't get any continuous alt key presses. It...

Re: Has anyone written a freebasic SuperEagle scaler?

Have already written code that links to libhqx dll . Forum page on linking to libhqx. I am trying to scale up fonts, and hq2x distorts the fonts, and makes the them too thick. That is why I was asking about Super Eagle. The other scalers that seem to do a good job on fonts are 2xsal, super 2xsai, an...

Re: Slow opening and closing of files

In my dos version of RadioTelphone Tutor for Android. (using a dos emulator), I notice, when I would open a topic, it took a while. What my program does when opening a topic, is opening files, and inputting data. But this is dos. Maybe I will need to convert more string functions to assembly. Maybe ...

Assembly out performs compiler optimization

This post for those un-believers who believe, that because the compiler optimizes the generation of code, that using assembly is useless for speed. It is my understanding, that freebasic libraries all use c code or freebasic code. No assembly code. I say for maximal speed, most of the libraries shou...

Re: Program crashes when not using -exx

This huge program crashes when using -e,-ex, -exx. When I use -e in my my huge program, I get segment violation in line -1. My test program also includes the error checking code, and it does not crash no matter what error checking compiler settings you use, or don't use. Just don't understand this. ...

Program crashes when not using -exx

Used libxbr in small test program, not using -exx OR -ex settings. And the small test program ran ok. Integrated it into a bigger program, and it would crash. Tried -ex in FBide and the program used about 24% cpu. Added -exx setting to FBide, and the bigger program would run ok. Is there any visual ...

Re: Meaning of "uint32_t rgbtoyuv[1<<24];" in typedef struct ?

It seems so. See also: http://www.jonathanfischer.net/profile/ That web page is very interesting. After all the work of getting libhqx , and libxbr to work. Think I'll go with scale2x. Don't believe I am saying this. Text scaled up by scale2x to be more readable than hqx & xbr. Really like the ...

Re: Meaning of "uint32_t rgbtoyuv[1<<24];" in typedef struct ?

Did some more googling.

Is this typedef making a uinteger static array of size 2^24 ?

I really can't believe, that this is creating a 67 megabyte array.

Meaning of "uint32_t rgbtoyuv[1<<24];" in typedef struct ?

Trying to translate a header in libxbr. I think understand everything but "uint32_t rgbtoyuv[1<<24];" in the typedef struct. Could someone explain to me what "uint32_t rgbtoyuv[1<<24];" means? Here is the header code. /* * XBR filter: from the FFmpeg project * * Copyright (c) 201...
