I would choose the C for the following reasons:

- standard
- Portable (x86 x64 arm ...)
- Multiplatform (Windows, Linux, MacOS ...)

The assembler does generation seems more necessary given the progress compilers C. ..

that's my opinion ...

Ok, one last time: wx-c wraps wxWidgets wx.Net wraps wx-c wx-c is part of wx.Net-project wx-c don't need any .Net Framework, just a proper C runtime. This header are for wx-c. |-->wx.Net wxWidget-->wx-c--| |-->FB D.J.Peters "fork" would be like this: wxWidget-->wx-c(base)+additional wrapper...

MOD, I find your work fantastic but I would not use your version to the following reasons: 1 / wx.net is too heavy compared to the original version ... 2 / too many dependencies (net framework, lua, visual studio ...)... 3 / compiled programs do not work on Windows 2000 because many dlls not found ....

I didn't change anything on the source, you can easily download and compile it by yourself. I thought you had compiled the static lib, I looked at some source code, it takes a lot of dependency (net framework, lua, visual studio or gcc (I), the documentation is unclear at all, I have no time to los...

wx-c is part of WX.Net and the latest version is 0.9.2, based on wxWidgets 2.8. The last release was at 2010-07-14. It's just one year and it's not dead. I want to use the lib provided with this release (at least the code of the bundle). This is what FreeBASICs header did and should do as long as w...

Static compilation is not necessary with linux, since this system is based on shared libraries, but in the window, I think it's more professional to broadcast a program that does not depend on any library and in addition it facilitates the diffusion, that said this is only my opinion ...

I think it is better to use the official wxwidgets stable, here are the static libraries and shared (2.8.12) : http://www.2shared.com/file/yw8XdvOq/Libs_wxwidgets2812_staticshare.html shared libraries will develop test programs quickly without having to compile static to avoid slowing down the proce...

DJPeters with UBX the size of sample programs is approximately 1800-2400 kb for small projects, I guess a code more important to reach about 2500-3000 kb, which is very reasonable with the memory available to current computers well it is easy to compress with upx, such a program is about 2400 kb 715...

MOD wrote:Maybe it would be a better idea to follow the wxWidgets-doc instead of wx.Net with the OOP-version. With inheritance added to the compiler we had just to add the EXTENDS and 'frame.show()' would work like in wxWidgets.
