Not entirely correct: function g_pattern_match() requires the string length as mandatory parameter. This means it also searches in strings containing zero bytes.

Thank you, I will consider these functions

Re: Very slow Search with CASE INSENSITIVE

Hi Vanya! You didn't mention cyrillic characters in your first post. When you're talking about a GTK-GUI, and before you add another dependency (PCRE library), you may want to check the GPattern function family. Regards Hello again TJF! It is not suitable, the library operates with the type zstring...

Re: Very slow Search with CASE INSENSITIVE

When the raw binary data contain ASC characters, the difference between upper and lower case is bit number 5. For a case-insensitive search you can set this bit and search for lower case, or clear this bit in order to search for upper case. Using INTEGER for the conversation, you could convert 4 (3...

Re: Very slow Search with CASE INSENSITIVE

I have found ways to reduce the time for search: 1) to remove from the buffer all characters of zero and then transform the standard function LCASE . The result instead 30 seconds -> 7.8 seconds. 2) use to search for the PCRE library. For example, a standard Linux utility grep searching for text in ...

(SOLVED) Very slow Search with CASE INSENSITIVE

Hi all! I have a program 'SEARCH' on the LINUX, but it works slowly. For example I take a binary file 750мб and find for the line that is at the end of the file: if CASE SENSITIVE , it's all good (1 second) if CASE INSENSITIVE, that's very bad (30 seconds!!!!!!) In binary files you can't use functio...

Re: Audio library for FreeBasic - Features

And why make additional inclusions in the form of "# Include"? Why can not you make direct use of sound commands like in gfxlib? All of QB's gfx statements were added by default. And a few new gfx statements were added later. Even then it was noticed that global namespace pollution was go...

But, for the fb dialect, requiring the #include is a good choice in my opinion. coderJeff! And why make additional inclusions in the form of "# Include"? Why can not you make direct use of sound commands like in gfxlib? And yes, I am very glad that you as a developer, finally paid attenti...

Re: window9.bi on Lubuntu

On various Linux distributions, the installation is different the number (and sometimes name) of the installed librarys. With regard to the validity\\of the irregularity: if your code compiles , then all is set correctly. Extra installed library , if you installed, you can always remove. I try to pu...

Re: Audio library for FreeBasic - Features

Hi angros47! I tried the function "SOUND". Everything works, but strange to assign function to a signal. The usual syntax has always been: SOUND(freguency, duration), and you: SOUND(func, duration) --------------------- For those who are interested , simple example using "SOUND":...
