Is this the grid based system you're talking about? Code is a little messy, but it mostly works. Tutorials/example code/links are always welcome. #include "fbgfx.bi" Using FB Const xres = 800 Const yres = 600 Const MaxCircles = 5000 Screenres xres, yres, 32 Const GridSize = 10 Const GridSi...

Correct me if i'm wrong, but this looks like quadtree based collision detection.

Since short can hold values from -32768 to 32767, and you've feed it with larger number than it can hold, it gives you garbage as result.

Need good quadtree tutorial

Hey, could someone try to make a quadetree version of program below? I know that there is Rel's quadtree tutorial, but I just find it really hard and confusing to read and I whould really need a quadtree collision detection optimisation. Google wasn't of much help either... Also, this could be very ...

@counting_pine

Thanks, fixed. I should really make myself a fbgfx template, since I write it every time from scratch and occasionally things like this happen.

Yeah, my bad. I was using Irrklang in one of my newer projects, so that name got stuck in my head, so I just typed that down instead Irrlicht.

Hey, thanks for info, but I already know most of that stuff. Also, I'm not making a app launcher, I just needed dock behaviour for menu in my game project.

But if anyone is interested in making a dock app launcher, feel free to use this piece of code.

But in FB you can use libraries like HGE (for hardware accelereted 2D), OpenGL (low level 3D), Irrklang (open source 3D engine), etc..

There are also tons of other libraries (for audio, databases, font rendering, physics etc...)

OSX Dock

Before I further mutilate the code, I'd thought I share it with you guys. This mimics the behaviour of dock and can be used for some clever in-game menus. #include "fbgfx.bi" Using FB Const xres = 800 Const yres = 600 Const midx = xres / 2 Const midy = yres / 2 Const False = 0 Const True =...

I see that a lot of member (including me) have gotten a little text under their names. I think that even such minor changes should be anounced somewhere (probably on forums). This is not a big deal, but it whould be nice to know what's going on "under the hood", even if that doesn't directly corelat...
