QAuestion with text answer

Try this one written in QB4.5 'Written in QB4.5: RUNS ON -lang QB and -lang FBlite Dim Names$(1 to 4) Names$(1) = "Joe" Names$(2) = "Per" 'Correct choice Names$(3) = "Ole" Names$(4) = "Pol" 'The Do..Loop will keep the ch...

For Next bug

This is not a bug nor compiler error. It is the normal range of an Short Integer i.e DIM A as SHORT or DEFINT A or A% In QB4.5 and FBC using -Lang FBLite - for A = 1 to 32767 :NEXT - will run without problems because the default is a long integer and the loop will count upto 32768 and then exit. Peo...

May I ask a rather "stupid" question ?
Is f a shared variable ? that is is it used in some other sub ?
If so shouldn't it be DIMmed as SHARED?

ISO standard for Date

Nice colours especially the Box. But, you let me down where are the fancy letters and figures and a little graphics to depict the month. Although if you use scenery then you must be careful not to confuse; i.e the northern and southern hemisphere opposite seasons, such as Hotazel - the name of a sma...

ISO format

@Dodicat Tis not the soize, tis the format that cownts - As the Scot said - or something to that affect. Just as long as you stick to the ISO format you can make them any size and any font you wish to use. The font, the colour and the size is more than enough to personalize the ISO format. Incidenta...

If it is an old BASIC program then you could possibly compile it using lang FBlite without any problems. If you are only interested in the immediate Key to be pressed then try: Key = "" Key = Inkey This is how I use it in QB4.5 . This way Key is always reset to "" (it is similar (but not the same) t...

If this was straight forward QB4.5 then all the declarations should be in a *.BI file which must be included in every *.bas file, otherwise the compiler gives you the error you experienced. Referring to your Mouse XY etc this is exactly what I got before I included the declaration in the other *.ba...

How old are you

Kiyote

Very nice but -
This time I think you are the big bad wolf because watching your squirrel I found myself swaying left right in little tight movements. Are you being mischievous and trying to hypnotize us ?

decimals in answer

I had a similar problem with Rands and Cent ie 1.20 is one rand and twenty cents. QB gave me some funny decimals at times and the books would not balance so I decided to use cents only and then divided by 100. That solved my problem. If you input millimeters instead of centimeters then I presume thi...

QB compatibility

Cyperium said: I just feel it's a unnecessary convention. It doesn't take too long to scan the document before compilation for subs/functions and declare them automatically without having to have them at the top of the program. Lachie Dazdarian said: Perhaps someone could add this as a toggle featur...

QB Compatibility

@ Fxm

Have you ever seen that film _ Practical Magic - With Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman - She is like that but both of them rolled into one. I was a bullfrog but she changed me into a Prince.

QB compatibility

@ Cyperium Remember you are using QB compatibility and DECLARE SUB is one of the QB conventions. QB also automatically places all SUB's at the End and when you save the file it does the Declarations for you. But as I said first use QB to do this work for you and then use the FBIde with -lang fblite ...

QB compatibility

@ Cyperium I used QB4.5 and its conventions for both Call and Screen 1. Using QB4.5 when you save the file it automatically declares the SUB's. 2. Calling a sub in both the QB4.5 conventions works without a problem. 3 Using x=SCREEN(1,1,1) also works without problems. In -lang fblite compatibility m...
