Program does not return : goes to task-bar

Whenever I use CHAIN, EXEC, SHELL, SHELL("start....") when the program ends my program ends up on the task bar and I then have to click on it to maximize it. When using Shell("START ..../Max /WAIT) for two programs called directly after each other both the called programs are displaye...

Re: another problem with fullscreen graphics mode

Could this possibly be because a few years ago Nvidia Display Cards no longer supported screen 7 and screen 13. You ended up with a tiny screen which could not be maximized. It first appears towards the middle of the screen and when you click on the maximize button all it does is jump to the top lef...

Re: Using QB4.5 Quick Libraries

@ RockTheShock by gum chum this is yum. I eliminated the gunk that is printed on row 25 by making the FOR ..NEXT loop 1 to 24. FB doesn't like screen 0 - it gives a tiny screen that cannot be maximized. I checked the screens and found that - Screen 17,,,GFX_Fullscreen - works the best for these full...

Re: Using QB4.5 Quick Libraries

Thanks Jonge.

I must have had something on my 4-eyes to miss that one. Or maybe i fell asleep in front of the computer. (It happens when I stay awake until 2 or 3 AM)

Reading from post one onwards will probably, between snoozes, take the whole day but I do have the time.

Re: Using QB4.5 Quick Libraries

The DOSBOX screenshots work perfectly. The PNG file size is the same as that of the BSV. (4Kb for the fullscreen - 80x25). Is there any precompiled PNG Library for FB that I can use that has a BI to include. With simple command such as : LOAD_PNG "Picture.png - for use with #Lang "fblite&q...

Re: Using QB4.5 Quick Libraries

I searched for BLOAD and the programs I found, including the conversion ones, did not work. Apparently the palette and Screen mode of the original BSV file must be known. So I tried every Screen Mode 0 to 21 but No Go. I jut cant load a BASIC BSAVE file. If I use -e in FBIDE it just bombs out, witho...

Re: Inkey problem in graphics mode

Apart from the error define chr$(0) i.e FB when using extended keys no longer recognizes Chr$(0) because for the extended keys they replaced it with Chr(255). I asked the same questions a year or more ago and was informed that I must use "drawstring" to print letters in graphics mode. I th...

Try downloading an IDE. It usually has a help/commands CHM file where the commands and some examples can be found.

Re: Convert floating number to fraction

Try dimensioning all variables as double. I found the same errors when I used integers.
I see there is also a dmax = 100000. Dmax should be dimension as a double as it is more than the max for an integer viz 32,767

Re: GOTO question.

@Teslacoil Here we are again; This subject will never die. As Marcov said about a year ago this has been going on for 20 years or more. When something is compared with another it usually results in a jump - which basically amounts to a GOTO. To say "if you can read it" should be replaced ...

The only error I can see is that you must first -
DIM instruct as string.
It also depends on what instructions there are in your *.BAT file.

Re: Syntax Poll

For BASIC the question is which one is the easiest for a beginner to understand. While LEN(Filename) > 0 is more descriptive and understandable in this instance. as is While Filename <> "" which is just as easy to understand. The use of course should be in context. Otherwise when using boo...

In or out of context "so it about the part of your micro-optimalization mindset only, which I still consider rather limited. " The optimalization or the mindset ? It is obvious that you did not read the original post correctly. Apart herefrom your refer to "Mindset ". So once aga...

Re: The new website

@ Counting_Pine
I have now set the date and time as suggested - Using Y-m-d H:i - and it is now displayed perfectly in the ISO standard.
Thanks again.
