not sure I understand the question, but if you want to import an array from a DLL you do

extern import some_array(15) alias "_some_array" as long

the number 15 is just an example for the array size.

I get strange timings which may be due to running Windows in a virtual machine, the numbers start at some high number like 1000 or 512 but rapidly diminish to 0 or 8.

you can also overload the function so you have the same function name for different data types, the compiler will use the correct function depending on the argument type. Declare Function round Overload (Byval x As Single) as Single Declare Function round overload (Byval x As Double)...
