yes, but the GNU compilers support the extended format and I was refering to the GNU lib, but I should have been more specific.

I have stayed away from the library because of the license, LGPL, which you cannot
statically link in a project without making it LGPL also, unless you compile the library as a DLL and use that.
Please read the license carefully.

a good point DrV, for example if you mix FB code with inline asm, for example in between a For-Next loop or If-then clause.

had some problems getting unary minus to work, it works if you put a space before the minus ie " - 123" however the code that checks for unary minus does not get executed.
