thanks fxm, it din't occur to me that Callocate was needed, it's probably obvious to you, but how do I determine whether Allocate or Callocate is appropriate ?

I am interested whether you succeeded or not.
note also that you could use another mingw distribution with different gcc-toolchain version, but I recommend that you use the /threads-win32/sjlj/ branch, as that is what coderJeff uses.
