Re: Pointer+offset verses Pointer[offset]

Yes with some liberal uses of #print typeof(...) I have determined that TypeOf(*(This.location[i])) returns that the expression is of type (pyObject) But TypeOf(*(This.location+i)) returns that the expression is of type (pyObject Ptr) - What I read the documentation is saying for both cases. Remembe...

Re: Pointer+offset verses Pointer[offset]

I appreciate everyone telling me the two statements will generate the same result and both are functionally the same. So why do I get a compiler error, when I use the second line with [] and not with the one using the + I have read and reread the documentation and I completely agree with everyone th...

Re: Pointer+offset verses Pointer[offset]

On the last line, you are missing the initial *. I think that might be important. It is not clear what part of the line is causing the error to be printed. *(This.location+i)= d Works fine and does not cause a compile-time error But *(This.location[i])= d does cause an error. Whatever the definition...

Re: Pointer+offset verses Pointer[offset]

Thank you very much for your response. I do appreciate any help I can get. Yes, I read in the documentation that the two lines should produce the same result. Then why did I get the error message? Maybe it has something to do with the pointer to pointer you ignored? I just want to know why I am gett...

Pointer+offset verses Pointer[offset]

Have I read the documentation wrong? given . dim as pyObject Ptr Ptr location . with . Type pyList Extends pyObject ' return cast(pyList Ptr,*(This.location+i)) compiles without error. But return cast(pyList Ptr,*(This.location[i])) compiles with Error 28: Expected pointer, before ')' in ' return ca...

Re: Header updates for Gtk-3.0 and others

Thank you for the update, it is most appreciated.

After GTK 4.0 comes out, and you hear of a Windows 10 version, I would greatly appreciate finding out where I can download it.

Thank you again for all your great work.

#macro Elipsis and #if not working together

Or I have a total misunderstanding of this using C:\FB\WinFBE_Suite\FreeBASIC-1.06.0\fbc -g -s gui -mt "fbSIR.bas" I have a macro #Macro Signal(Name,Detail,RetValue,Arguments...) . . . SignalArgument(Arguments) propNofSignals += 1 #EndMacro #Macro SignalArgument(TofArg,NofArg,IsPointer,Arg...

Re: SQLite 3. Any update since 1.05 release 3 years ago?

Thank you for the information.

The SQLite website has a set of window binaries, could they be used with the *.bi file produced by fbfrog?

SQLite 3. Any update since 1.05 release 3 years ago?

I wanted to use SQLite 3 in a new project and checked out the documentation on its website. The documentation is for the current version 3.26. The Freebasic 1.05 version of SQLite3.bi file is for 3.8.11.1. Did not find documentation for version 3.8. Since this is a new project, I wondered if there w...

Re: How much information about a type is remembered at runtime?

Thank you.

I have not done anything like that before, so I will go back to the FB manual and try to work out how that works. Is there any other documents that go into more detail than the current standard FB manual?

Re: How much information about a type is remembered at runtime?

Third question. Is there some way I can declare a variable "ObjType" in type OBJ that contains a FreeBasic type. So that I can store the type Car into it during the execution of the constructor for Car. Then in a routine declared in ObjI can cast the Obj pointer @This to a Car pointer If ...
