Re: GladeToBac question

Yes it looks like GTK 3.0. The world is up to 3.22 and many many changes have been made and the definitions in GladeToBac are wrong in places for current system. I think it reflects GTK as it was in 2012.

Re: GladeToBac question

GladeToBac has used this method for as long as I have used it. It however also automatically generates declarations for each widget so that you can reference that widget in your source code with out having to change your declarations every thing you add/subtract widgets from your model. It also auto...

GladeToBac question

I was just wondering if GladeToBac will ever be updated to meet the new GTK versions. The version that I got from the download site has some signal processors with the wrong argument lists (widget - button press is generated with two arguments, but documentation specifies 3 as an example). Thanks Wa...

Re: Problem with GTK and new machine

Finally I got GTK 3.22 (the latest version) to work properly??? The program seems to work. Some routines are not in the gtk.bi that comes with the standard FB download (it is 3.16) - not unexpected since FB has not been updated for way over 2 years. I made so many changes, updates, reloads, ... I am...

Re: Problem with GTK and new machine

I checked out the file in the specified thread. Had to track down a missing #ENDIF in Pixbuf first. It loads ok, but if I try to execute it as a gtk 2 system, a missing file libgtk-win32-2.0-0.dll was not found. Trying the 3.2 version causes gtkbuilder to abort with a C++ error code.

Re: Problem with GTK and new machine

I checked the topic and it indicates that there is a set of files for gtk 3.2 from 2012. I will look in to that later, after I clean up the mess I have made trying this that and the other thing to make this work. It seems that gtk is probably no longer supported from the comments I have read. And th...

Re: Problem with GTK and new machine

I copied the files with names that matched the missing names and removed the extra "-0" off of the end of the name. So I had the original and modified names in the directory. Contents of both versions were the same. I then recompiled and original errors disappeared, but now I got the follo...

Re: Problem with GTK and new machine

The old machine failed and took the hard drive with it or the hard drive failed and took the machine with it. I had all my work backed up but did not bother to backup system files and I had installed libs like this as system files. I will try renaming the files correctly and let you know. I will get...

Problem with GTK and new machine

My old faithful 8 year old machine finally died and repairing it for the 3rd time did not seem reasonable, especially as the hard drive failed too. So I now have a brand spanking new Windows 10 machine. ( I cannot thank my wife enough for the allowing me to use such a large portion of our SS income ...

FbDebugger aborts before starting to debug executable

I am using an up to date windows 7 machine. I have the Aug 2016 version of the debugger. I am using 1.0.5 of FB. I am also using GTK 3.8 and the GladeToBac program. As a standalone the executable works fine. When using the debugger on the same executable, it starts to the load file, takes about 15 s...

Re: Question on usage of Virtual

Thank you. I guess my documentation was quite out of date. Never noticed that fact. So if I read that correctly, if in my above example where P is a pointer to Display (bottom most level), if I want to delete the Frame (top level) that is pointed to by it, I have to put Virtual on each of the Destru...

Re: Question on usage of Virtual

Thank you for your advice. I will place the Virtual keyword in each Declare of the routine redraw.

Re: Question on ByVal parameters

Thank you everyone who checked this out and replied. I have taken the advice given here and will not try to change the ByRef vars passed to a routine. As far as I am concerned this item is closed. However it does seem to have pointed out an error in FB 1.05. I hope it has been reported through the p...

Question on ByVal parameters

I have a routine with several parameters that are passed by value. I gather that a temporary variable is created in the calling routine and the address of this passed after setting it to the value to pass. Given that this is true, can I then change the value of this byval parameter in the routine wi...
