Re: FB debugger : 2.59 (15 APR 2012)

If using Scintilla is too much work, what about setting FB-keywords bold. Some compromise sounds a good idea, and I would modify this slightly, to be FB keywords that are active-code. ie comments, and source that is 'off' because it is inside conditionals, should not be highlighted. It does not nee...

Re: FB debugger : 2.59 BETA 01 (25 FEB 2012) keep watched va

In fact, only if you immediatly use the restart button it works. Ah, I was miss understanding what restart meant.... ever the optimist ;) Try this code. Put in watch test1, ubt and ush (when they exist). You should see 'var name'<var type LOCAL NON-EXISTENT> when executed lines are outside a sub an...

Re: FB debugger : 2.59 BETA 01 (25 FEB 2012) keep watched va

For now a beta version. The watched vars are kept as the breakpoints, only in case of rerun. And the best of the best : the watchs for local break points vars and parameters (inside sub/func) are also kept between every call. Obviously nothing can be done with them (no alert at this moment) when th...

Re: FB debugger : 2.58 (2 FEB 2012) TOC in HELP FILE

Nice to see this ticking over, it's been a while since I looked in. I see Breakpoints now save - can the watch vars do the same ? - maybe with a session name, as you may have more than one area that needs a suite of BreakPoints and Watch vars. Also for Watch, I notice a Watched local var (declared i...

For the purposes of identifying which of these two conventions a called function uses, the key difference between the conventions is in where the parameters are removed from the stack, either in the called function before it returns, or in the caller after the return. Thanks for the details, and ni...

DLL issues. @4 etc missing something simple..

I downloaded this a) http://www.freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18545&highlight=babyplayer and it builds fine, and seems to import modlib.dll However, when I try the same syntax on what I think is a C++ compiled dll, then I get messages like undefined reference to `VarName@4' When I dig into...

I guess I should re-define what I am doing. 1 need something in the style of a Notepad program, but when you type your code in, There would be a run button. The code would then be errorr checked, and then run, taking some variables and outputting to USB some data, and also reading in some data from...

Very good, 'right click menu more useful as help' is now looking nice. Just two minor typos I saw : In right click menu, Show and watch have the same CTRL+Click tag. Of course, watch is ALT+Click In Quick Edit, English "Choice option after editing done", would read better as "Select option after edi...

@jmg The file for the screen grabs is not found. See your post. Hmm, no such thing as a free lunch.... It was there for a while ? 'too big?' - this end it is only 33K. Not to worry, hopefully it was there long enough for you to get the idea. I have since found that FbEdit has right-justified hotkey...

Interesting, it seems Microsoft's Visual Studio does this, but it may not be a native windows feature ? I did find this http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/winforms/thread/9b2f5726-505f-4436-8098-3aab030d737e/ and I see that FbEdit is also able to right-justify, and that is written in Free...

@jmg Notepad++ & Notepad have a right-column, and Lazarus & Mozilla use right-justify. My personal preference is right justify, and it seems common enough that maybe windows supports that easily ? Not sure to understand : where do you want right-justify ? On the hot key column, there seem t...

@jmg Not sure to understand : where do you want right-justify ? See next post. Is quick edit supposed to work ? No, just there to look pretty ;-) (faire joli en français...) Load an exe, stop the execution and 'tab' any module (if several). Then 'quick edit' allows to modify and save the bas file. ...

A message will be displayed when a user 'right clicks' and there is no watched var I think the right-click menu in the main window, needs to have more lines, It has Run to Cursor, but not Step Over/ Step into etc. It should have lines for Show Variable (Crtl-click), and Add Watch (alt-click) Yes, b...
