I doubt that many people would find that option. Furthermore SourceForge requires registration for sending messages.

Re: using unicode (tips and tricks)

I use UTF-8 encoded variable-length STRINGs since years (ie Data2App, OpenGlPlayer, GladeToBac, ...). Please note: Unicode mustn't be UTF-16. It may also be UTF-8 or UTF-32. Sure, you may misuse ordinal "String"s for storing Unicode data (no matter which encoding: UTF-8, UTF-16, etc.), bu...

Re: Updating freebasic windows .bi

I don't know about the legal situation, but the code excerpt in my last post above was taken from MinGW's Win32 Headers, not from the original Microsoft Windows SDK. The defines/declarations mentioned are present in MinGW's Win32 Headers, but missing in FreeBasic's.

Re: using unicode (tips and tricks)

@TJF: please don't write nonsense, if you have no idea - in fact Microsoft implemented Unicode in Windows quite early and Windows was even the first OS that used Unicode in system calls. Regarding Unicode and Windows : ⋅ Windows doesn't use UTF-8 internally, but UTF-16 (UCS-2) instead. &sd...

Re: Updating freebasic windows .bi

@counting_pine: The Windows API has been extended/modified several times with each new version of Microsoft Windows. The original C Headers include Version-specific defines, which seem to be not included in the FreeBasic Headers. For example, the missing Defines in "wingdi.bi" are wrapped ...

Re: New Freebasic editor

Sounds nice, but does not work on my Windows 7 x64 machine. The application "CSED_FB.exe" fails to load and aborts with showing an error message like this (similar): http://img262.imageshack.us/img262/1962/erorro.png You probably have included a wrong/incomplete application manifest or req...

Re: how to search for valid com ports?

if you're using Windows the easiest way is to look into the registry:
HKLM\HARDWARE\DEVICEMAP\SERIALCOMM lists all ports

Re: No AppInit_DLL key in the registry on my XP SP3 box?

Using the (deprecated!) AppInit_DLL Registry-Key you can inject a DLL in every process that gets loaded. CS_GLOBALCLASS is something rather different: you specify this wndclass-attribute, if you want your wndcls to be application (process) global. Of course you can combine both features to register ...

Re: Procedural block world project

You can rarely compare software projects (presented here) by features or design with other longstanding software developed by big teams out there. That would probably only cause frustration and kill any sort of software project just as it has begun. But there is an important fact you can compare: Th...

Re: The request to translate

The paragraph doesn't contain much (non-obvious) info, but anyway, here's a translation: (TN: Describing the table above) The third (and last) column contains the formulas belonging to the constants (in the first column). The letters R, G, B, A stand for red, green, blue and alpha values, respective...

Re: FB debugger : 2.60 BETA 6 (23 JUNE 2012)

Ok, understood. As the flow of called procs is kept I guess it could be possible. let me some time ;-) Just one point, what do you mean by "navigate" ? I meant only that you can jump (in terms of viewing; no changes to the running program or anything like that) to the calling location (or...

Re: FB debugger : 2.60 BETA 6 (23 JUNE 2012)

btw. can FB debugger show the call stack? Could you please clarify what you want. For example, Visual Studio 2012 RTM: http://img824.imageshack.us/img824/332/callstackf.png To put it simple, it's a list of called subroutines - the current subroutine on top and the callers below - and one can naviga...

Re: FB debugger : 2.60 BETA 6 (23 JUNE 2012)

You found a bug, I tested dll and lib but not the case of lib in dll. So thanks for the reporting and now quickly the solution. Thanks for your really quick answer and fix. Works like a charm! By the way, did the previous modification solve your asm problem ? I did replace the asm piece of code lat...

Re: FB debugger : 2.60 BETA 6 (23 JUNE 2012)

Hi SARG, when I'm trying to debug FreeBASIC code, that is compiled as a static library and linked to a dynamic library which is itself loaded by an executable, I can't set breakpoints or step through the code. I've compiled a little demo project for you so that you can easier test and understand wha...
