I don't quite agree. It has become a lot easier with the introduction of simple makefiles and removal of that autoconf/configure-(sorry :-) )-crap . Building FBC from source is now easy as never before.

Re: New FB release soon

Hence I'd like to focus on: [...] MinGW.org for Win32, MinGW-w64 for Win64, [...]. I'm using a MinGW-w64 toolchain for both the win32 and win64 builds now as it seemed to cause least trouble. The MinGW.org toolchain caused some troubles and personally I wouldn't recommend to use it. For example the...

Re: Web Browser

You want to host a WebBrowser control / embed a WebBrowser in your application, right? I do not know whether there exists a WebBrowser example in FB, but there do exist some examples written in C. The WebBrowser control (Internet Explorer) can be accessed via COM. COM Interfaces/Objects are usually ...

Re: Failed example

What you see is that the Linker (ld.exe) complains about missing third-party libraries. Of course these aren't (and some event can't) be included in the FreeBasic distribution. If you want to use third-party libraries you have to get the library from the corresponding third-party website. We have a ...

Re: Netbeans IDE for FreeBasic

Regarding keywords and parsing rules i think it would be the best to directly have a look in the FreeBasic sources. e.g. keywords can be found in https://github.com/freebasic/fbc/blob/master/src/compiler/symb-keyword.bas, #define-s in https://github.com/freebasic/fbc/blob/master/src/compiler/symb-de...

Re: Netbeans IDE for FreeBasic

I really like the idea of writing an ANTLR Grammar for FB. I already thought about creating a FB grammar for some lexer/parser generator (like CoCo/R, for which also FreeBasic emitter exists somewhere here on this forum) several times in the past, but never found the time to actually start it. I als...

Re: ReForm : a Visual Designer

@enform: I managed to download it now, thank you for the additional upload. I forgot to mention a better alternative to all that one-click-hosters: http://users.freebasic-portal.de/, see e.g. http://freebasic.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=20840&p=187808#p187808 Just write Sebastian a mail a...

Re: ReForm : a Visual Designer

no source code , just an exe without install. Oh, ok :-( I am not a virus maker ! You can run it in a sandbox , like Sandboxie. I totally believe you and I would never assume that anyone contributing to the FB community would harm other FB programmers by providing some malicious executable binary. ...

Re: ReForm : a Visual Designer

I cannot download it, I always get the following message after waiting 15 seconds and clicking the download Button: •Vous devez attendre avant de télécharger ce fichier. I do only understand a little bit French (as learned in school years ago), but as far as I got it, it seems to complain about wait...

Re: Free basic text editor src included.:)

One can easily download the file from that provider; however, I would prefer some other host too. Files uploaded on such sites usually get lost very quickly. //Edit: I didn't get first, that clicking on the filename works. Only saw the download button that wants you to download some Download Manager...

Re: New version of PNG library (now v3.2.q)

The lastest version can be found at https://bitbucket.org/yetifoot2/fbpng The link to a (little bit older) pre-release of 3.2.q, version 1.9.4, is still valid: http://jafile.com/uploads/1000101/fbpng_v3_2_q.zip @yetifoot: would be nice if you'd update your first post in this thread with the new link.

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

Seems that the MinGW.org toolchain caused most of the problems. However, there are still some issues that make me wonder, e.g. the _gmtime32 thing. The things are normal currently and I am proud to have insisted with my contribution where the others remained insensitive. Thank you for pointing out t...

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

@aloberoger: I've switched now from the obviously buggy MinGW.org toolsuite to the MinGW-w64 toolsuite, which was also used for compiling the official 0.90.1 release according to dkl and was probably used by MOD too. Furthermore I was already using the 64-bit version of that toolsuite for the x86_64...

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

Meanwhile I have updated MinGW's binutils (as, ld, ...) to the latest version (2.24). This fixed the "There is no disk in drive ..." errors and reduces the size of both compiled programs and the MinGW binaries itself. Thus the Win32 GIT-Build package has gotten a lot smaller; it's only abo...

Re: FB debugger : 2.80 BETA 12 (may 30th, 2014)

Today I used your debugger for debugging fbc itself. It didn't work out of the box because of the following error: ERROR not enough space to load stabs string The message explains the problem quite well and I was able to fix it by increasing the memory for the stabs data. However it would be nice if...
