Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

The CI system is back in normal operation :-) Installed the PC at it's original place again (after having done the repair and first tests at home). Also the DOS build environment is working again, seems it was caused by some network differences in my home-network and by some missing (compatibility) ...

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

Yes, unfortunately not very lucky at the moment. The computer is dead (doesn't show any reaction at all when trying to power on I've been told) and I still have to have a look myself what's actually wrong. //update: PSU seems dead //update [2020-08-16]: PSU replaced and luckily seems to work like a ...

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

Documentation build was stuck for some reason (during page download). Added a timeout of 2 hours. Thanks a lot for your documentation work fxm!

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

Thanks counting_pine, I guess it was some kind of internet connectivity issue. Google's DNS is currently configured as secondary DNS server. I'm using the Jenkins URLTrigger plugin to check for changes and trigger the build if any have been detected (= result of XPath expression //pubDate[1] changed...

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

No, the problem is that no build has been triggered at all: https://img.imageupload.net/2020/07/04/grafik.th.png I'm not sure what caused the issue, but for some reason the Recent-Changes RSS feed of the FreeBasic Wiki couldn't be fetched from the server, according to the logs: Invoking the url: htt...

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

Thanks a lot for the hint, fxm. Last known good was on 2020-05-23, first recorded failure was on 2020-06-09 (and 4 more times since then). The problem was an expired SSL certificate on the freebasic-portal.de server, which caused the CHM upload to fail. As I cannot do any changes to the configuration...

Re: New IDE:vfb(Visual Freebasic)Like vb6,vb7(Update 2020-04-30)

There is no source code because I own and have the source code for the main guts of the designer. They took the FireFly Visual Designer and injected into it in order build around the core exe. I'm sure that all the other dll's and stuff that was used to hack into the FireFly exe could be open sourc...

Re: New IDE:vfb(Visual Freebasic)Like vb6,vb7(Update 2020-04-30)

no, it is not an open-sourced software The author has spent a very long time on this project, so it will not be abandoned easily Could be. It's just a bit strange that the IDE pops up one day, is heavily advertised for a short period of time and now seems to have gone quiet again already. Doesn't s...

Re: GW-BASIC is open source now

And that statement I actually disagree with. Open source VB6 would actually be pretty huge, or would have been even a couple of years ago. A couple of years ago most likely, nowadays I'm not so sure anymore. I mean most of the new UI technologies, research and development seems to happen in the fie...

I guess that should read "even if VB6 was open source, nothing would have changed in the BASIC world." ?

Re: New IDE:vfb(Visual Freebasic)Like vb6,vb7(Update 2020-04-30)

@xiaoyao: where can I find the source code for this? Or is this just yet another poor attempt of creating a closed-source FreeBasic IDE going to be abandoned within a few years or even months? On the GitHub page I just can see a set of ZIP files containing (outdated?) compiled binaries along with so...

Re: Linux Framebuffer

Experimented a bit with different old and new Linux VMs: A current install of Debian 10 in VMware or VirtualBox provided a framebuffer device by default (no extra configuration necessary), but it always triggered errors (either app segfaulting or even kernel errors). An older Debian 8 install on Vir...

Re: Linux Framebuffer

fbgfx supports the framebuffer device, however I don't think that you can create a fbgfx application with FreeBasic that does not depend on X libraries by default. If you run a fbgfx application not within a X environment but from a terminal it will use the framebuffer (if available). Unfortunately ...

Re: Where can I get a Recent-Git-Build of FreeBASIC?

Thanks for the hint, the machine ran out of disk space. I've cleaned up some space so that it should work now again. A documentation build will be triggered when a new change is detected (from now on again). (Change history is queried using the RSS feed XML: https://freebasic.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakk...
