Re: anti-alias rotation of a bitmap object

Would we all prefer native code without distro of libs? Something like

ScreenRes 320, 200, 32
Dim image As Any Ptr = ImageCreate( 64, 64, RGB(0, 128, 0) )
'load bmp -> image here
'rotate image here with FB code

anti-alias rotation of a bitmap object

Sorry to start a new topic on this. BUT there are too many hits on search. What is the fastest way to rotate a FB image object (2D) that also uses anti-aliasing (ie, removing of moire patterns). Projects (HighQuality Rotation, rotozoom) seem to be missing or abandoned and multiput V.2 only works wit...

Re: Windows GUI

I also like fltk (see libs section). Demos run no problem. I find that once you start gui, you will invest a lot of time learning it. So pick a good powerful one if you are going to make more programs

Re: fbGFX Version 3 ???

Why do they make it so hard to download the cairo windows binaries? Is there a more straightforward way to get the dll files WITHOUT having to build it from scratch or download GTK+ ??

Am I right that libcairo is NOT bundled with FB?

Re: fbGFX Version 3 ???

To me, this is a deeper issue for native GUI, since most GUI windows carry the graphics (basic graphics as well as fonts, anti-aliased line drawing, rotations). There is enough code going around this forum that includes these concepts that can be bundled as standard FB libs.

Re: denoising AutoEncoder (dAE)

This is very interesting. However, I am a little perplexed on how it works. For example, arrays a, b, c are all sinewaves with different phase shifts. So the solution in array d would be a sinewave of average phase? If for example we alter array a to have a non-linear transform of the form ( cos(x)^...

Re: Auto-completion with Geany

FreeQ IDEa can do autocomplete but only Windows and fb is not the main target. But since the source is Basic you might see how easy it is to modify.

Re: FB jagged, choppy screen update?

Frame drop [obviously] implies insufficient cpu and/or gpu horsepower. Not necessarily. In a multi-tasking OS like windows, your FB app can be interrupted by a background process just at the moment that a flip should occur (assuming the app has a valid VSYNCH signal). I have been interested in this...

Re: Grid of editboxes using Windows API

May I suggest a more modern GUI library such as FLTK rather than Windows 32 API. This is for several reasons -multiplatform in the FreeBasic mindset -more compact and readable code -easier to see what to do when you have an event. -the drawback is you may have to keep a set of DLLs together with you...

Re: What can't be written in FreeBASIC?

Ok, this will be my last post on this. If I was a software company charging for a product, forcing users to download 14 GB of stuff. I would expect that samples from my "Samples" collection would run. My experience with VS has been disappointing to say the least.

Re: What can't be written in FreeBASIC?

Probably outdated sample code? I don't think so. It came from Microsoft's sample code section (https://code.msdn.microsoft.com/) It is the CameraCapture example (VB or C#) -- FYI Sorry it says the Windows 8.1 and windows phone 8.0 tools are not loaded. But why would I want to load them if I have la...

Re: What can't be written in FreeBASIC?

Thanks for the vstudio tip. Also I wasn't expecting pre compiled code, just that samples dont compile as is. Also I have Win10 64 and VStudio was asking me to download win 8.1. Now that is messed up

Re: What can't be written in FreeBASIC?

Here is my worthless $0.02 I like where FB is going because it is more towards a universal BASIC language. We are not using it to make device drivers, we use it to make fast apps using a wide range of existing BASIC code, including very old QB. What we are currently lacking is a way to use a very la...
