text only role playing game

Thinking about what a pure text game would be I reduced it to a set of locations, each with a description of the location and its contents, and a set of actions that could be taken to change the state or existence of those contents, or pick up objects or exit the location. I have kept the descriptio...

When you started learning to program, how did you go about it? ~David I started learning to program as a hobby many years ago on a TRS-80 using the excellent books that were available in those pre internet days. Programming is still a hobby for me so I don't program all that much. From your second ...

@ D.J. Peters, Thanks, this is terrific. The color / hue looks slightly different compared to a JPEG opened with Windows "Picture and Fax Viewer". Is this something tweaked by the many parameters? I noticed this effect myself. I saved an image from MSPaint and found that when loaded with the FreeBa...

John, My project is the opposite of computer games: detect, (and not create) an object in a picture. we call it "reconnaissance d'image" in French. I'm training with lines , and numbers or letters for the moment... Isn't what you've done ? Not so much what I have done, rather one of the things I wo...

I+=1, has never been a part of basic, but it works.

Cheers

I never understood the point in it? What is wrong with I = I + 1?
Does it perhaps compile to a machine code to increment I?
If so why not just type inc I?
