Use of REDIM in a UDT

So here is a simple version of the code I wanted to modify. I took dodicat's suggestion on not needing the path length variable. I also had to use preserve redim for it to work. The makePath function is at line 200 I still have to create a path in it of some maximum length but resize the returned ve...

Using REDIM in a UDT ?

The problem I have is the length of pCount might vary from 0 to 1000 (or more) which means every time an APATH is dimensioned it takes up a fixed length even if most of it may not be used. Is there anyway for the makePath routine to create only the space it needs for the length of the path? Accordin...

Re: Using COLOR() function

Thank you for your patience and tolerance.
The FBIDE help I used is out of date and I also forgot about FBWiki which didn't show up when I did a google search for "freebasic color command".

Using COLOR() function

In a routine I want to save the current foreground and background color but can't seem to get the background color? In the code below I can see the &H88 but not the &H99 in the returned value. Also the Help example uses uinteger instead of ulong screenres 640,480,32 color rgb(&H88,0,0),r...

Re: "A Love Letter To FreeBASIC" Game Dev Competition (Oct 2018 – Jan 2019), 250 $ 1st prize

Honestly, because of the little time I have available I do not know if I can complete the project in time, but nothing prevents me from trying since i like the idea. How is progress? After 6 weeks of trying to come up with a way to integrate the FB theme into a game I think your idea is brilliant. ...

Circles are good if you eventually use fat rounded characters :) I downloaded lots of animated horse sprites and it occurred to me maybe a horse race of some kind between different languages. "And they're off!!" "C jumped well with C++ fairly away, Python revved-up and steaming forwar...

@BasicCoder2: Everything ok there? A saw a bunch of posts by you ~12 hours ago, now gone? Yes still standing up right :) Decided I should stop posting partly finished demos. So its going to be a platform game?

Although I don't know if I can weave the FreeBASIC theme into the game I have begun writing a platform game as well as I consider that to be the easiest format for a lone programmer.
