GetWindowRect to get the full rect size of the control( client and non-client areas).

Use MapWindowPoints to convert the rect found via GetWindowRect from screen (desktop) coordinates to client area offset coordinates.

PS: And YES I will write this project completely in VB6 because at the end it should be able to translate it's own VB source code into clean, fast and runnable FreeBASIC code... I hate to be a kill joy but the above statement will fail. You will not be able to translate VB code FB code. It will ext...

I think you would be better off trying to ask Paul Squires over at http://www.planetsquires.com/firefly.htm to modify the FireFly Visual Designer to output FreeBASIC code (in addition to PowerBasic code). Maybe you can convince him to allow an FB to be free (or at least very low price). Writing a vi...

File size is not an issue here. Your exe's can be much larger than 365K in Windows 32-bit. I have EXE's that are a couple of megs in size and there are no issues.

NAME is a reserved keyword in FB. Could that be causing the compiler error?

Is this now the second or third time you've left??? Seems you leave, sneak back in to snipe and disrupt, and then leave again. Have you tried posting on the PureBasic forum yet... maybe they could use help.

Interesting... let's do the count of how many programming languages Mr. John has "united" (I mean "alienated") .... HotBasic, PowerBASIC, FreeBasic, BCX, and now FBSL. Have I missed any? For someone so eager to create a mega-programming portal, that's one hell of a bad start. I guess he got sick of ...

using -lang fb

sNewString = str(10) + str(15)

Keep in mind that STR will add a leading space if you use -lang qb. In that case, use ltrim to get rid of it.

Thought I would share with the group what a little effort and cooperation can achieve. BASIC-COMPILER.COM ha ha ha ha, you still here? :) I love how you Π$/- off every PowerBASIC user, HotBasic user, FreeBasic user and now you're doing the same thing to the BCX users. Poor Kevin Diggins.... he'll l...

Thanks AGS, I worked on an FB grammar for a week or two using the VB.Net, VBScript and C grammars as guides. I had never written a grammar in GOLD before. I got a fair amount of stuff defined and working until I got lost in the "expressions" - that's where the reduce/reduce errors occurred. It was a...

Hi, I was playing around with the Gold Parser grammar definitions. I got a bit of the FB grammar prepared for Gold but eventually ran into Reduce-Reduce errors on the Expressions definitions. I haven't got back to figuring out the reason for it. I also translated the "Kessels" Gold template file. If...

I going to remove FreeBASIC from the All Basic site on your recommendation and let the other members here thank you for your vigilance. The sign of a true leader <roll eyes>. This just reaffirms my good judgement not to join that site. I witnessed the John/Donald/Zale PowerBASIC fiasco and the infa...
