Hi all The purpose of the driver was to send and receive data to one of four computers linked by serial ports. Each computer had my code running and therefore a copy of the same drivers. Assembled with Masm 6.1 You should be able to work out from the calling routines in basic how and what it does. R...

Hi all MystikShadows, i wrote an interface for 4 serial ports using Qbasic and Asm cause Qb wouldnt allow additional serial ports. It does use Interupts, but is complete and you may like to use the Asm code as In-Line asm to solve your problem. Tell me if you would like me to email you a zip file. R...

Hi all Back in civilisation for a few days. yetifoot, are you saying that during runtime, the loading of a driver wont happen until it encounters an INP statement.? Or are we talking about the compile process. And hopefully we are only talking about FB for Win. ??? After seeing your post, I checked,...

Hi All
Currently out bush but will post zip file on Thursday.
Michael, you were right I placed a INPUT statement at the beginning
and that prevented XP from "picking the dummy". What interests me
however how you came to that conclusion.

Hi All "spat the dummy" is probably Australian slang but it means that XP refused to handle it. I guess I should be more international in my english. Breaking down the program into a small example of where the problem is, won't help. As more than likely the problem wouldn't exhibit itself. It is lik...

Hi all

The simple matter of fact of this issue is, that the code ran as I expected for 6 months, then everytime I added a comment, either in the routine,or calling the routine XP halted on the OUT stetement.

Hi Michael

Yes I was aware.
The code is actually reading a Xilinx cpld that specifically needs to have the Hi byte read first. The code in it then decides not to update the Lo byte untill that is read.

Hi all Not really a problem, but just an observation. I was preparing my Cgui for someone else to try out, but thought I better disable all OUT statements. So IF Settings.IOVal >= &H80 THEN Out &H157,Settings.IOVal END IF Became IF Settings.IOVal >= &H80 THEN ' Out &H157,Settings.IOV...

Hi all For some reason, I didnt get the usual emails to notify of replies.??? I am still confused. At first it sounded like a corrupted FbcDos.exe, but then how would you compile .o files? If you are using 'make', I recommend using the dos djgpp version. I have had troubles in the past if I mix the ...
