I once did something like this -- if `map' is not present in other gamer's pc, the map file will be transferred. But I never got to debug what causes the problem of the file not being transferred completely. Halfway through the transfer the socket just closes.

Cool! Because I have this one and only serious project I'm writing with FreeBASIC... a 2D scriptable game engine called Quixie . Now I'm planning to add 3D capability which (like Flash/FlashPlayer v11 do is make sure that 2D and 3D is handled in one screen -- not like have two separate modes). MiniB...

Where can I find this Open3d? ~creek23 Right here: http://sourceforge.net/projects/minib3d/files/ ) ... I hope you'll find what you need. I do think that this is what I'm trying to find. What's the license btw, is it permissive for commercial games? If for example, this lib was used on an open sour...

Given that most of us are actually using FB for games. I didn't code any game in FB jet (I see FroheOstern2011 more like a demo). If you could let me rephrase: ...Given that most of us are actually using FB for graphics-related apps. Btw, FroheOstern2011 is a demo alright but almost a game, nonethe...

As I understand it, pure FBgfx doesn't support HW accelerated graphics aw. and I thought FbGfx was using OpenGL on GNU/Linux and DirectX on Windows. (I just remembered, I am using MySoft's OpenGL-backed fbgfx ) Maybe it could work for a Wolfenstein remake, but beside that... Wouldn't if be better i...

What do you understand by 3D library? A library where you add 3D object in a 3D scene and add camera -- then the library does the rendering for you. Together with owen I made some code to calculate 3D coordinates and show a cube on screen in different views. Find it as code example here (no #INCLUD...

Is there an FbGfx compatible 3D library?

Hi all,

I was just wondering if someone has already written a 3D library that uses FbGfx as backend? All my search results in this forum are just wrappers of some other C/C++ 3D Libraries.

Thanks for the work around TJF.

Hope Joshy would have the time to fix the problem on the library.

I'm trying to have a BG Music for my game's Main Menu and another BG Music when in-game. I need them to be looped forever. When I played Main Menu's BG Music, the in-game BG Music, plays as well. Below is a snippet that replicates the problem. #LibPath "C:\test\fbsound0.12\lib" #Include &q...

Very first version of FB was compiled on Visual Basic for DOS - just to let you know ;). That's a great trivia, indeed -- I'm guessing FB doesn't support Pointers back then. My scripting engine was first compiled on Visual Basic 6 before I get to port it on FreeBASIC on 2007 -- just mentioning (not...

Like how can one compile the code on a new platform if it requires the compiler which is yet to be compiled to compile the compiler code? o.O Crosscompiling or other bootstrapping methods(*), all problems already solved in seventies. How do you think GCC is compiled to a new platform? IIRC, Richard...

Afaik while native code is possible in libraries, the main program must be java. (but it is possible that that changed in later versions) Maybe the whole game can be written in native and have a template Java app that loads and renders the native game? How I'd love to see my FB games to run on Andr...

I really wish someone will be able to provide a FreeBASIC compiler for Mac. (now, where's the shooting stars when you need them?) Can we say that FBC's self-hosting feature is what's preventing FreeBASIC to be multi-platform? Like how can one compile the code on a new platform if it requires the com...
