Smack! game

Hi all, Not sure if this game is a qualified FB project, since this game is basically a collection of data files for a game engine ( Quixie ) which is written in FreeBASIC. Nonetheless, I'd like to show the game ( may not be worthy of the word 'game' as it is just a tech-demo and in it's early alpha...

Re: Net-Objects Client/Server Library

Hi Vince,

Thanks for the link, but you already provided that from a previous post on this same thread, on which I got FIFO that is basically the same to this one in link. What I was asking was how to compile FIFO so libNOC and libNOS can use it.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Net-Objects Client/Server Library

I was to use your pre-compiled lib from the NetObject link you provided but when I try to recompile the Client/Server demos, the libNOC and libNOS were looking for FIFO so I tried compiling FIFO myself -- then I had that problem of compiling FIFO.

Re: Net-Objects Client/Server Library

Hi Vince, How do you compile FIFO? I'm getting this error: FIFO.bas(26) error 147: Expected class or UDT identifier, found '_FIFO_RING' in 'Constructor _FIFO_RING (size As Integer)' FIFO.bas(34) error 147: Expected class or UDT identifier, found '_FIFO_RING' in 'Destructor _FIFO_RING' ~creek23

Re: Chisock UDP help

Hi Vince, I've already looked into UDP_Server and UDP_Client. By default, only the Client can send keystrokes. I tried modifying it so even the Server can send keystrokes to UDP_Client but it's not working. After trying to send keystrokes from Server to Client (which fails), the Client can no longer...

Re: Net-Objects Client/Server Library

Hi Vince,

Do you happen to still have a copy of NetObject?

Re: Chisock UDP help

I've modified TCP_Server and TCP_Client to do what I want to do with UDP_Server/Client. TCP_Server.bas #include "chisock.bi" '' start this, then start tcp_client using chi dim as socket sock var res = sock.server( 10000 ) if( res ) then print translate_error( res ) end if ? "A" s...

Chisock UDP help

Hi all,

Has anyone tried modifying the Chisock's test apps, UDP_Server and UDP_Client so both apps will be sending keystroke to each other? Without adding another socket?

There is no point in doing a "hello world" demo, since an "hello world" demo does not require 3d. Here is a demo that shows a cube: #include "openb3d.bi" screen 18, 32, , &h10002 graphics3d 640,480 var cube=createcube() var camera=createcamera() moveentity cube,0,0,5 r...

FB was also a gateway to C++ for me. Although I already know C++, but never really used it for any serious projects some 5 years back. Dealing with FB and pointers gave me the confidence to mess around with C++ and pointers -- I guess, having been acquainted with interpreted BASIC (QBASIC, VB) helpe...
