Re: Dynamic array as type member not allowed.. why not? WHY!

I'm posting to let the FBC dev know that I also want this feature. I was using a lot of this Dynamic Array inside Types from my old VB6 app... But when I ported it to FB, I have to use Pointers instead. But every once in a while I get these weird crashes -- not always. Instead of further developing ...

Re: How to kill a Thread

But it doesn't when the procedure is blocked. sub mythread(p as any ptr) wait_for_x end sub The code above is preventing the app from closing. Btw, I'm trying to make the wait_for_x to look generic since I believe some will also get into this same problem I'm facing. But just to make it a little cle...

How to kill a Thread

FreeBASIC currently provides ThreadCreate and ThreadWait -- I wonder if it's possible to add ThreadDestroy? My app was originally like this: * start * run * stop Now it's: * start * run * wait_for_x * run * stop So I'm trying to put wait_for_x to a Thread so now it's: * start * run (and) wait_for_x ...

CairoPut - Cairo edition of MultiPut

Hi all, This snippet is for people who already use MultiPut but would like to use Cairo over FbGfx. I've created a Cairo (sort of) implementaion of MultiPut called CairoPut :P for my game engine called Quixie . #Define MATH_PI 3.1415926535897932384626433832795 Public Sub CairoPut(Byval lpTarget As C...

Re: Smack! game

Hi Lachie! I've envisioned Quixie to behave like Adobe's Flash Player, where Quixie-based games will be distributed as a single file like Adobe's SWF and have a single Flash Player installed. But since most of the library I use are loading the resources(image/sound) from the file, my only way of emu...

Re: Is FbGfx a software renderer?

Hi Vince,

When you say, "lets you use all of the FB primitives and gfx commands too", does this mean FbGfx are still rendering on the software-level? Or did you (like MySoft's OpenGL.bas) undefined FbGfx and replaced the underlying implementation on SDL?

Re: Is FbGfx a software renderer?

Hi Aave, I have an OpenGL.bas written by MySoft sometime ago which, from my understanding, uses OpenGL under the hood as it replaces/undefines the FbGfx routines ScreenSync , ScreenPtr , ScreenRes ... but it currently doesn't contain replacements for FbGfx's drawing routine. Where can I find FreeBAS...

Re: Compiling on a Mac

I don't think people understood the progress that gothon have here.

Hi gothon, maybe you can share the generated files so people can tinker and could possibly help to improve it.

Is FbGfx a software renderer?

Hi all,

I just wanted to clarify: Is FbGfx a software-level renderer? I mean, does it do the computation/etc on software level -- and not on graphic card?
