RL walk around + fov demo update

Program updated to use graphics mode and multi-key. This should solve the sluggishness and cursor issues (but introduces some others..) Info display tweaked for clarity, additional move commands 'wasd' added. A quick test with multikey however, reveals that the player still makes miltiple moves, and...

I like the menu system. It took me a moment to understand that I needed to launch the menu to issue non movement commands, as I have habits from playing other RL's. Integrating all the controls and commands into one set of keys the way you have makes mastering the control scheme easy, since these sa...

I'll take a look at the issues, although I have not had either issue: a) slow response b) hanging c) numpad controls not working (I wrote and tested on a laptop which may have something to do with this) It's mainly to show the fov, with little else to keep the progam easy to follow. Thanks for the f...

Roguelike walk around demo with simple field of view

There have been some questions about RL's lately, so here is a little console mode RL walk around demo I made today to test a different field of view algorithm for my RL. This one casts rays from the player only to the bounding edges of the map rather than every space, so its a bit faster. It builds...

Ideally, the document tree would have one path from DocToc through the CatPg* pages to each topic page never more than 3 levels deep. Don't know if that's possible, users have their own ideas about where topics should be linked and sometimes just add whatever they want to DocToc even if it is a dup...

Hopefully this isn't too cryptic, but it might help you find some missing/incorrect backlinks: http://www.freebasic.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=FBWikiCheck Ok I think the majority of the link issues here are complete. A couple of the pages listed as invalid backlink were 'fixed' from this last WikiChe...

the function checks if the given wall is the nearest wall to the player -> the one which has to be lit In rdc's example, this is done in the following way. The LineOfSight function determines a space is visible (returns 0 if there is a blocking map space (a wall), or 1 if there is no blocking space...

Readme feedback

In your readme file you mention sending feedback. I did not find a note about where to send feedback anywhere in the source or the readme.

Of course.. if you are only posting the link in this thread and nowhere else I understand ;)

The way I do it is assign another map layer that holds whether or not the map cell blocks light. Then when casting light beams, check if the map cell the light is passing through blocks or not. Another issue is what about a light source on the other side of a wall from the player? If you are using a...
