Multiple console windows? (solved)

I have not seen any posts about this on these forums. In the past I have dumped debug and error checking messages in a text file for which I review while testing my apps. This requires I run the program, end it, and then do my error checking and variable verifying. Is there a way to open two text mo...

Folding a select case into a single call? (solved)

I have in a program a large select case which activates a function based on a users keypress. Something like this; select case key case key_a call sub_a() case key_b call sub_b() case key_c call sub_c() ' etc.... end select It could easily be re-written as (another example): ...

Undefined reference to MOTr...

There is probably a typo (spelling error) somewhere in your code. I suggest searching in your code for 'MOTr'.

If you are using FBide there is a search function you can use.

Access unknown files in directory

My question is how do I access a bunch of of unknown file names/types in a given directory with FreeBASIC, on WinXP Home SP 2. For example lets say I have a directory C:/files/ In this directory is a bunch of files, some of which I need to send through a parser, however I do not know the names of al...

Wow, a lot more information than I was expecting. counting_pine wrote: You can #undef just about anything, from constants to keywords. From the Docs: FB-manual-19.may.2006.chm After being defined with the Const command, constants cannot be altered. If code tries to alter a constant, an error message...

I mainly use enums for integer masks. Example snip from some of my code, this along with Option Explicit has saved me from innumerable typo errors. ENUM MapLayers map_layers = 7 feature_map = 1 vision_map = 2 move_map = 3 mob_map = 4 fog_map = 5 index_map = 6 path_map = 7 END ENUM ENUM CameraData ca...

Const, Enum, #Define Whats the difference?

Hi. I have been using FreeBasic for a while as a hobby for some game programming. I'm wondering what is the difference if any in compiler output for Consts, Enums, and #Defines. I'm not referring to cases where #defines are used to pass instructions to the compiler (beyond setting a value), and I'm ...
