You can't do it the normal way, you have to use GNU make. Search the forums for instructions.

I'm not sure if it's possible to add the summary in a resource (definitely not anywhere else though).

A string is actually an array of characters (or actually more than that in FB), and it would be impractical to push all that onto the stack. You also wouldn't be able to tell where it stops easily.

For me it took wondering for a while, then sitting in 1st period class and realizing that "Oh, that's how they work!" :) But look that stuff up, there are good descriptions on the internet.

0x may be supported, that's what you use in C, not sure if it supports binary though, maybe... but I think &h, &b, &o are what basic languages use normally.

Everyone is talking about this game being so good, and I can't run it. Zelda is about the only video game I like, and I wish I could try this one... anyone have any ideas of why it is having problems?

I don't think I could do much since I'm very busy with school and other projects, but I think it's a great idea, and I would try to contribute in my free time (probably windows programming).

What!? :)
I really think it could be when version one is released. It's free, generates very fast code, implements (or soon will) seemingly all the features that modern C/C++ and other compilers have, etc... the list goes on.

So there is no way to pass a pointer to the array? Functions written in C or other languages won't know how to handle FB array descriptors, it'd be nice if there was a way to pass the array but not its descriptor (no, not push the whole thing, just put a pointer to the first item). If there is a way...

I'd say 32 since you're not passing the arguments ByRef or as a pointer.

I get the "white screen of death" when I try to run it, that is, I choose Begin, it shows the creatures flying over the ocean, there are some explosions, the screen fades out to white, and it never comes back. http://www.maj.com/gallery/virusscanner/screenshots/ll.png I still have music though.

Run cmd.exe, right click on the title bar, select "Properties" (last menu item, if you don't have an English version of windows), and go to the colors tab. I don' think there's an easy way to do it from your programs.

Not sure about RapidQ, but in FreeBasic, you can change the packing of the type by using

Code: Select all

field=x
at the end of your UDT, where 'x' is the number of bytes you want to leave for packing.
